Chapter 3 RED HAIR GIRL

Dranon could only stare, his limbs too weak to move, he had no idea who the Kleinfelter she mentioned was, though.

"Who was wrong?" He struggled to say.

"Not your business." She replied, climbing down the bed to pick up her jacket. “You shouldn't be worried about that but your life.” The sheets fell down from her waist. She was not as naked as he thought she was, on her waist were a jean trouser. She put on the jacket and let it cover her transparent shirt, then she walked back to him. Dranon realized something.

"You're not a prostitute, are you?" He asked, curiously.

"Of course I'm not. Do I look like one?" The girl asked, pulling her red hair up in a ponytail.

"Who are you then?" Dranon struggled to ask her.

She looked at him quietly for a while and then said, " Even in this position, you're still asking questions. Oh well, no need to hide it since you will be dead soon. An assassin." Softly, as if she would rather not admit it. Dranon supposed he should have been worried at the revelation, but he was not. Perhaps it was the way she hesitated before admitting what she was.

"How did you get in?" He asked.

"It was easy… The men outside mistook me for a worker here, a fatal mistake on their side, I must say." She answered honestly and he liked that about her.

"Why is my body like this?" Dranon asked, hoping to get another honest response.

She smiled, it stretched across her face. A harmless smile it seemed, but Dranon was sure she was anything but harmless.

"I drugged you." She said, her voice was gentle.

"How?" He asked as, he kept his eyes fixed on her.

" How? Think again." She replied, the smile still on her face. It didn't take long for Dranon to figure it out.

"The drink." He finally said.

"Correct." She commented like a teacher who is impressed.

"Why do you want to kill me?" Dranon asked, feeling the state of his body. The drug was not wearing off anytime soon.

"I don't know. Because I have no choice?" She pulled out a dagger and approached slowly, her hand gripping the hilt of a dagger tightly.

"Any last wish? I must say, you're far better looking in person than you are in photos. A pity I have to do this… A pity." She said, and drew nearer. Dranon's mind was turning fast, thinking hard.

She didn't waste time. She jabbed the dagger down forcefully, aiming for his chest. Dranon quickly shifted to avoid the blade with all of him.

"You're fast, even when paralyzed." She said, Just then, he heard voices down below, she must have heard it too because she whipped her head towards the door. Dranon took advantage of her momentarily pause, willing himself to lunge forward. He hit her and she stumbled back a little.

"You're strong for someone who's been drugged. Does it not work on you?" she asked, a small frown on her face.

"Yes." Dranon replied. It was a lie, he could feel his body almost giving out.

"Oh." She said simply. Knowing she didn't put enough of it in the drink.

Unexpectedly, she launched herself forward, lashing out with the dagger, the sounds of footsteps below getting nearer. He managed to dodge it. She was relentless, her movements, precise. She backed him up against the wall above the bed, and then she struck. Dranon dodged. It was painful, but he had seen more pain than what his body was undergoing.

The voices now seemed just beyond the door. The girl looked towards the door again, and then she grabbed her dagger, keeping it in place against her body. Looking at him as if he were a snatched prize, she ran for the window. She pushed the window open, then jumped out, leaving him lying there on his bed.

“Isn't it high?” He mumbled as he watched her.

The door pushed open, thankfully, it was Alistair.

He walked inside urgently and took note of the open window.

"Someone was here?" Alistair asked, scanning the room.

"True." Dranon muttered, still not sure of what he had just experienced.

"What was–"

"Forget it." Dranon gritted his teeth. "Go out, it's nothing." Alistair looked around the room one last time and turned to leave.

Dranon fell back against the bed, his limbs getting weaker, sweat dotting his body. Alistair wouldn't mock him, but he had pride after all, he couldn't let anyone know he'd almost been killed by a girl.

He cursed softly as he remembered the red haired girl and the blazing blue fire she had for eyes. She had been deadly. He had thought she would spare him or something.

'Shit' he cursed softly again. Then, relax on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

He stayed in the same position as the drug took full control, then he slept before the drug wore off, apparently, she didn't give him a much stronger dose. Perhaps, she had anticipated it would be a fast kill. She was right. If he was not dead, he would have been injured if not for Alistair.

He stood up and cracked his joints, feeling the stiffness in his joints disappear.

The cellphone in the room started ringing, thinking it to be the person behind the attempt murder, he rushed to pick.

“Sir, are you hurt? The lady in the room was an imposter.” He heard a familiar voice.

“How?”

“The lady, picked for tonight, walked in not long ago. Alistair had to come in to be certain. Sorry for the inconvenience.”

He didn't want them to know what happened so, he lied, “Yeah, I noticed. She left already. No need to worry.” And ended the call.

Something caught his eye on the floor. It was the place the girl had stood a while ago, he walked to it and picked it up. It was a card, on it was a house address and what appeared to be a phone number. On it was also a name.

'Ramona.' Thinking out loud.

He stared at it for a long time, and then he let out a soft chuckle. He imagined her expression when she realized she left something important behind.

"Ramona. Ra…mo…na." he said again, testing her name on his tongue. As he sat back on the bed, there was only one thing on his mind. His dick had responded. Although it was only a little, it was something. And she made it happen.

That's everything available right now.
