Chapter 2 TWO

Tasya looked at the city of Manhattan from behind the glass of a taxi car. It had been a long time since she returned to her hometown, and she knew that a lot had changed in this city. 2 years of design college until she graduated, and now Tasya has become proficient in the field of sketching or designing clothes, following the times. She once dreamed of having a fashion house or boutique specifically designed for her. For now, she came home because she missed her father. Her father was the only one she had in this world because her mother had died long ago when she was born.

After paying for the taxi. Tasya's house, which was not too grand, was in front of her, although it was not so big. but it was still a palace for her. With a cheerful face, she stepped her feet into her house. Tasya was surprised because many black cars were parked in her yard. She suddenly felt that something bad might happen because there was no way her father was having a party at this time. When her feet arrived in front of the door of her house, suddenly her body was blocked by two large men.

Sorry, miss, you can't come in!" One of the big men spoke to her.

"Why can't you? I'm the son of the owner of this house!" Tasya spoke a little snappier. She felt increasingly unclear because she was forbidden to enter.

The two men looked at each other as if talking through their eyes. There was the sound of breaking objects from inside the house, and the incident immediately surprised Tasya. immediately barged past the two men. To see what happened, Tasya increasingly saw many guards guarding the door to her father's room, and one strange thing was that Tasya did not see any servants who took care of his house. With a slight feeling of fear, she climbed the stairs to her father's room; she was sure that was where the sound of the object came from. When she was in front of her father's room, she was again confronted by a large man.

"Why!!! I own this house; you can't stop me." Tasya immediately broke through before the men stopped her.

And what she saw first was the thing that made her chest tight: her father lying helplessly with a face full of wounds. And what made her even more furious was the man who put his foot on her father's stomach with a gun pointed at her father's head.

"Stop it." With a little courage, Tasya stopped the man. Alaric turned his body to see who dared to stop him. Their eyes met for a moment. Tasya swallowed her cell phone harshly.

"Please don't kill my father; just take your revenge on me. Do whatever it takes. I won't fight back." Tasya lost her mind; she could only cry sobbing because she couldn't see her father suffer like this.

Huff, miss, I didn't expect you to be the son of this old fart." Alaric looked back at the old con man lying helplessly.

"Are you sure you want to endure what this old fart did?" Alaric looked condescendingly at the weak woman in front of him.

''I'm sure whatever it is, I will bear it," Tasya said very confidently now, even though she had no idea that the one in front of her was a deadly demon.

"No! Baby, you can't bear what Daddy did." The old man spoke to his son haltingly. Tasya just shook his head and smiled back to appease his father, saying that he was fine.

"What are you going to replace it with? I don't need a maid or a prostitute because I can pay them." Alaric spoke again to test what this weak woman in front of him would do. Tasya lifted her head with a bit of courage left and replied.

"With my life, my life will be yours."

Okay, interesting enough, don't regret what you said; your life will now be mine." Alaric grinned as he immediately agreed with her answer.

"Well, I guess the game will continue tomorrow." Alaric walked towards the exit, followed by his bodyguard. Before leaving, Alaric had time to turn around, and smiling, he said to the girl who was waking up her almost unconscious father.

"Prepare yourself tomorrow; the suffering will begin soon." Those were the only words Alaric said as he walked back, not seeing Tasya's reaction, which was almost stricken with fear.

"Daddy, let's go to the hospital." Tasya took the cell phone and called an ambulance.

******

Tasya waited in front of the ER door for her father to be treated by the doctors. Tasya was only able to squeeze her hand, confused by everything that happened today. She thought her return would bring happy news. but instead, a new disaster came to her.

The doctor came out after a few hours of examining her father, and the doctor said that her father was fine, there were no serious injuries, and Tasya was allowed to visit him.

The doctor came out after several hours of examining her father, and the doctor said that her father was fine, there were no serious injuries, and Tasya was allowed to visit. Tasya sat next to the hospital bed that contained her father's body. Her hand grasped her father's hand and placed it on the surface of his cheek.

"Tasya," her father realized and called his daughter.

"Daddy, does Daddy need anything?" Tasya got up, took some water from the glass, and fixed her father's pillow.

"Tasya." Her father touched her hand.

"Yes, Dad." Tasya looked at her father.

"Please don't want to follow Alaric." Her father grasped her hand in a very awkward way because he was afraid that his only daughter would be hurt because of the things he had done.

"A man named Alaric, don't be afraid, Dad, I'll be fine. It seems Alaric is a good person." Tasya stroked her father's hand and kissed his knuckles.

"I'm sorry, Daddy, for pulling you into this." Her father apologized for the mistake that led to his daughter's involvement.

"It's okay, Dad; my life is nothing compared to the sacrifices Daddy has made over the years." Tasya smiled, but her heart was troubled about what would happen to her life tomorrow, so she had to live with it because it was her choice.

Her life belongs to Alaric now. *****

This morning was very beautiful for Alaric; the man woke up earlier than usual, opened the balcony door, and breathed in the fresh air. Today is the day that his only daughter Hendra will give up life.

Alaric descended the stairs and called out to his right hand "Devon." He saw a man younger than him with a sharp intake of breath as he ran from his room to his old place.

"What's wrong, Alaric?" Devon spoke using Alaric's name because all this time Alaric scolded him for calling him sir; Alaric considered him his sibling, and that's why Devon loved Alaric so much.

"I need you to pick up Hendra's son and bring him here."

"Okay, I'll pick him up." Devon went straight to work.

"Devon!" Devon turned back to hear what else his old man had to say.

"Treat him well; he is my guest." Devon nodded and immediately ran the car to Hendra's house.

Tasya was feeding her father porridge; her father had returned from the hospital in the evening because he refused to be treated.

"Dad, here's the medicine." Tasya helped her father take the medicine. Her father grabbed her hand, making Tasya turn her head.

"What's wrong, Dad?"

Tasya, promise Daddy if Alaric tortures you, then you have to run or fight all of that."

"Don't worry, Daddy, I'll fight Alaric if he's mean to me," Tasya spoke confidently, even though in her heart she wasn't sure what she was saying. The door opened and revealed the face of her housemaid.

"What's wrong?"

"It's this lady who's looking for you outside," the maid said a little nervously.

Tasya turned her body to face her father, releasing his grip and rubbing his hand.Tasya went down the stairs to meet the guest who was looking for her and found him sitting on the sofa in her living room.

"Did you get an order from Alaric?" Tasya got to the point.

"Yes, I'm here to pick up the lady," Devon said, using formal words.

Tasya noticed that the man in front of her was easily around her age and looked no less handsome than Alaric.

Alright, give me time to say goodbye to my father." Tasya asked for approval, and now she was back in her father's room.

Daddy, I have to go; Alaric's men have picked you up." Her father got up and hugged his daughter as he patted his only daughter's shoulder.

"Take care of yourself; Daddy's sorry."

Tasya let go of her father's embrace and walked out of the room without a word, as she was now unable to hold back her tears.

"Is she done yet?" Devon asked Tasya as he saw her coming down the stairs while wiping her tears.

"What about my stuff?" Tasya asked Devon.

"Later your goods will be delivered there; come on." Devon invited Tasya. First, Devon took out a handkerchief and immediately drugged Tasya, and now Tasya fainted in the arms of Alaric's men.

Devon still remembers that his parents don't like strangers knowing the way to his house; that's why he drugged Tasya. *****

Tasya opened her eyes and felt her head a little dizzy. She was confused about where she was.

"Hey sleeping princess, are you awake?" The voice next to her came, and it made her turn her head and see Alaric sitting on the sofa next to her with one leg raised.

"Alaric." Tasya was a little hesitant to say the man's name.

"You already know my name? Good, then I don't need to introduce my name to you." Alaric smiled for the first time, a smile that had long been missing from his life.

"Get up and clean your body; Daisy will bring your clothes." Alaric walked out of Tasya's room.

Tasya carried out Alaric's orders now that she had taken a shower. Because it was also almost afternoon, Tasya only used the bath kimono in the bathroom.

The door opened and revealed the face of a beautiful woman who was young but probably older than her.

"These are the clothes you should wear." Daisy put on the gray maid uniform. Daisy was here as the butler.

And she had ordered that she treat Tasya as Alaric's maid. Alaric even told Daisy to give Tasya a tough assignment.

"You will be Mr. Alaric's maid."

"Okay." Tasya breathed a sigh of relief as she felt that the job was quite easy.

"Now prepare a meal for Mr. Alaric."

Tasya just nodded and walked down the stairs to carry out her duties. She thought that she would be the one cooking. It turned out that she was just arranging the food and putting it on the dining table; it turned out that there were a lot of menus to carry.

Miss, you better go call Mr. Alaric," the chef told Tasya to call him.

"Aa, just call me Tasya; I'm just like you. Sorry,  where is Alaric's room?" Tasya asked the chef again.

"Mr. Alaric's room is in the hallway to the left upstairs; you should knock on the door first; if no one answers, then you can enter." The chef gave instructions, which Tasya immediately carried out.

Tasya had sworn to look for Alaric's room. There were many rooms in this house, and she was confused when she finally reached the end of the hallway, only to see a door that was a bit mysterious—a wooden door so beautifully carved.

Tasya stood in front of the door, hesitating to knock. Finally, he used the handle hanging on the door to help knock. Several times Tasya tried, but no one opened it. Finally, he remembered the chef's message that he could enter when no one opened the door.

Finally, she opened the door slowly. The first thing that greeted her was a spacious room with European-style architecture, a bed that had a high headboard, and maroon-colored sheets on the walls that were also maroon and gold, adding a luxurious and mysterious impression. but she remembered what her goal was. after being glued to Alaric's room for too long.

Tasya furrowed her brow when she saw Alaric was not in bed. She began to step deeper into Alaric's room and was surprised to see Alaric sleeping in a sitting position on the black sofa in his room.

Tasya ventured to wake Alaric up. She noticed that Alaric's face looked like he had the appearance of an angel, with long eyelashes, a sharp nose, and a strong jaw that was covered with a little fine hair. He was handsome. Tasya felt sorry to have to wake Alaric up. and she also saw that Alaric looked tired.

"Aaa, maybe I should go downstairs and tell the chef that Alaric is sleeping." Tasya turned her body to step outside, but as she stepped, there was a hand pulling her wrist, which surprised her. She sat forcibly on the sofa and saw Alaric's face looking at her face from a very close distance. Tasya closed her eyes in fear; she could not guess what would happen next. Alaric gripped the jaw of the woman under him until the woman felt the pain of what Alaric was doing, and inevitably the woman opened her eyes.

"Who told you to come into my room without my permission?" Alaric said coldly that anyone would be afraid to look at his face right now.
