Chapter 1

The driver’s daughter sold my family’s European estate and framed me for running an escort ring inside it.

My mother and brother despised me for it. Even my childhood sweetheart believed the vicious rumors and dumped me on the spot.

Cast out and abandoned by everyone, I was dragged to a shady medical facility after the driver’s daughter claimed I had a fatal, rotting infection.

I was tortured to death in that hospital bed.

When I opened my eyes again, I was right back to the day my estate was sold.

01.

“Freya, do you really have to be so vain? Why must you throw your birthday party at that estate?”

In the university classroom, Lola Finch stood directly in my path with a look of stubborn defiance.

A wave of dizziness hit my head. It took me a moment to realize that I had been reborn.

In my previous life, Lola, the daughter of our family driver, secretly sold off my private estate and framed me for carrying a filthy disease.

My brother treated me like garbage, my mother looked at me with disgust, and my lifelong boyfriend swallowed her lies whole before ditching me.

When I tried to defend myself, my mother and brother locked me in a clinic where I died in agony.

The chilling memory sent shivers down my spine. Staring at Lola, I took a deep, steadying breath.

“That estate is an inheritance left solely to me by my late father. What right do you have to touch it?”

“I only did it for your own good, Freya! You spent two whole months taking clients there, and down there is so rotten I can literally smell it.”

“I sold the place to pay for your medical treatment. The doctors said incurable viruses can’t be wiped out, but at least we can prolong your life!”

Lola burst into dramatic tears, playing the martyr with total conviction.

The classmates around us instantly took a step back, looking at me like I was radioactive.

In my past life, her vile slander made me so furious that I rushed forward to confront her, only for my brother to slam me against a desk.

I had bled heavily from the impact, yet Lola twisted it, telling everyone the blood came from my foul infection.

This time, I would never let that nightmare happen again.

I forced myself to remain completely calm.

“Lola, you better back up your claims with hard proof.”

“You are nothing more than our driver’s daughter, yet you dared to sell my property and defame my character. My legal team will deal with you.”

I pulled out my phone to dial my attorney, but my brother, Cedric Montgomery, suddenly barged in and snatched it from my hands.

“Enough, Freya! Lola grew up under our roof! Who gives you the right to treat her like dirt?”

“Besides, she sold the estate to save your miserable life! Who knows what filthy things you were doing there twice a year for months at a time!”

I nearly laughed out of sheer fury.

The French estate was left to me by my father before he passed away. I only stayed there during winter and summer breaks to honor his memory.

I also used that time to study family asset management under a top European finance mentor.

Yet in their filthy minds, it turned into something disgusting.

“Dirty minds only see dirt, Cedric. Lola has never even left the country, so how would she know what I did in my own home?”

I turned to the crowd. “Will anyone lend me their phone for a second?”

The entire room fell dead silent.

A few students began whispering among themselves.

“She has a deadly virus. Who knows if using her hands on our phones will spread it?”

“Exactly. Lola lives in the same house as her, so she definitely knows all the dirty details.”

“Even Cedric stepped up to call her out. She must really be infected…”

Seeing them shrink away, I felt a deep chill over how easily these people turned on me despite everything I had done for them.

Still, I knew I could not let these two continue to drag my name through the mud.

I raised my voice over the murmurs. “I will pay ten thousand dollars cash to anyone who lets me use their phone.”

When nobody moved, I raised the stakes. “Fifty thousand dollars.”

Sneers broke out across the room. “Think money can buy everything?”

“Seriously! Taking money from a woman who sells herself makes my skin crawl.”

“Do you think all those designer bags she flaunts were bought with her dirty earnings? Even her brother doesn’t wear luxury brands.”

Of course Cedric didn’t wear luxury brands.

My father had willed the entire family fortune exclusively to me.

In my past life, that exact inheritance drove Cedric, Lola, and even my mother to plot against me.

Knowing there was no point staying here, I turned to walk out of the classroom, but Lola moved to block the door.

This time, I didn't hesitate. I delivered a crisp slap across her cheek and snatched her phone right out of her hand.

“Freya! Lola is doing everything to save you, and you dare lay a hand on her? You vicious psycho!”

“We are through!”

My childhood sweetheart, Derek Price, suddenly appeared in the doorway, glaring at me with raw hatred.
