Chapter 2

Chapter 2

What a lovely show of concern. What a sweet, caring husband.

Wyatt seemed to have forgotten that he was the one who dragged me here to ruin my life in the first place.

Did he really think brushing off an eight-year sentence would trick me into dying a scapegoat all over again?

If I hadn't known about his affair with Carly, his emotional performance might have moved me to tears and made me plead guilty right then and there.

I let out a cold laugh.

"What's the matter, Wyatt? Are you terrified I'll expose the fake persona you worked so hard to build?"

Wyatt choked on his words. When no one was looking, his glare turned venomous.

Good. That was the real Wyatt Keller.

He had played the loving househusband for five whole years, and I almost had to admire his stamina.

"What are you talking about?" Wyatt sobbed, wiping away tears. "We've been married for five years! I cooked for you, took care of the house, let you hit me, and turned a blind eye when you cheated! I did everything for this family. Was I wrong?"

He put on a textbook performance of a long-suffering spouse who swallowed all his pride for his marriage.

In my previous life, he had used this exact speech to guilt-trip me, weeping about how exhausted he was managing the home and claiming he gave up his career just for me.

Only after my death did I learn the truth. He had caused a massive scandal at his firm and was blacklisted across the entire industry, forcing him to hide out at home.

The spectators continued to curse me, treating me like a monster beyond redemption.

Ignoring the judge's scowl, I simply said, "Start the extraction."

The judge shot me a look of disgust before slamming his gavel to activate the machine.

A violent surge of electricity tore through my brain. My entire body spasmed in agony as white foam bubbled at my lips.

No one in the courtroom showed a shred of sympathy. They clapped and cheered, while live comments flooded the floating holographic screen.

[That's what a toxic cheater deserves! A little shock therapy is way too light!]

[Who would even date a woman like this? Domestic abuse, infidelity, and an attitude! Let's see how she crawls out of here!]

[Honestly, just fry her alive.]

I gritted my teeth, fighting with every ounce of willpower to stay conscious.

There was no way in hell I would let those two scumbags win.
