Chapter 3 Mother of Fireworks
Chapter Three
“I am not stalling. I just don’t kiss people in a bathroom.” I snarled. He grabbed my arm then pulled me out of the bathroom. He pulled me into him, “You are out of the bathroom.” Fuck…
I cleared my throat as I shook as I placed my arms around his neck as he lifted his eyebrow, “Have you done this before?” I rolled my eyes as I mocked him, “I done this before.” He shook his head as his hand went to my hips when he pulled me into him, “Then show me.”
I sighed as my lips went closer to his full lips. I looked into his dark brown eyes as I tilted my head to him. He groaned as his hand went to the back of my head as he pulled my hair back as I gasped when he slammed his lips against mine.
Holy, mother of fireworks. His lips were soft, tasted like mint and passionate. I closed my eyes slowly as pulled me into him as he deepened the kiss as I let a little moan into his mouth when his tongue entered between my lips.
This man knows how to kiss.
This is the first man I have kissed my whole life. Thanks to the evil stepmother keeping me locked up from the world for the past year. I stopped breathing. He sucking the life out of me.
He pulled his lips from mine as he opened his eyes as he catches his breath, “That better. Do that then we will be fine.” I nodded as he held me into place, “Okay.” He smirked as he tilted his head, “Ruby, you can take your arms off of me now.” I pulled my arms from his neck as he chuckled.
He went to his closet as he pulled out a pair of sweats and a tee shirt, “You don’t have any relations to Todd Clark?” I titled my head to him as he handed me the clothes, “He was my father.” His eyes widened as his hands went through his hair, “Really?”
I shrugged my shoulders, “It is a common name so, you could be thinking of another Todd Clark,” He lifted his eyebrow, “That must be it. Take a shower and come downstairs for lunch.” I nodded as I went into the shower.
After the shower I went down stair as I explore the house. He can’t know my father. My father would never be involved with a man like Jaylon Cunning. Oh though, I couldn’t see my father with a woman like Lisa Carol either.
Ugh.
I wasn’t paying attention where I was going when I smacked right into something hard. I closed my eyes as I know who I just slammed into. I can smell that it is him. I tilted my head as I slowly opened my eyes as the front door opened and a woman’s voice filled the room, “Jay?” He leaned down to my ear, “Showtime, kitty.”
I groaned as I noticed that he didn’t have a shirt on then turned around as his younger woman that was a woman version of a man that stood next to me. His arm went around my shoulders, “Andrea, what are you doing here? You wasn’t supposed to be here until tomorrow.” She waved her hand at him, “Oh, I got an earlier flight. I texted you.”
He rolled his eyes as he sighed, “I didn’t get it.” She wave her hand at me, “You was probably too busy with this one.” He snorted then he groaned, “Andrea, this is Ruby my fiancé and Ruby this is my sister Andrea.” Andrea lifted her eyebrow as Jay moved me to wrap his arms around my waist, “Oh, I didn’t think you was involved with just one person.”
He shrugged his shoulders, “Like dad, said he wants to see me settle down. It is time.” She shrugged her shoulders then held out her arms with a big smile, “Welcome to the family, Ruby.” Jay pushed me forward as I turned my head to him and gave him a fuck you smile. Andrea pulled me into the hug as I whispered to her, “Thank you.”
I think I am seeing why he wants me to be his ‘fake’ fiancé. Daddy. He said he was ill, so maybe he wants to give his father some hope of Jay settling down. Crap, how long do I have to pretend for?
“I have lunch ready.” Jay said pulling me out of my thoughts. I followed Jay since I don’t know the house, that is how I was able to bump into him on my way down in the first place.
I sat at the island as he served us when Andrea tilted her head, “I ate on the plate, I am going to go settle in my room.” She winked at me, “Just remember I am next to your room when you two go to bed.”
I rolled my eyes as Jay is chuckling, “We will try to keep it down.” She walked out of the kitchen as I narrowed my eyes at Jay, “How long do I have to pretend for?” He leaned against the counter when he shrugged his shoulders, “As long as I want you, too.” I shook my head as I picked up some salad on my fork, “As long as we are not walking down the aisle.”
He chuckled as he lifted and went to the fridge, “And if we do.” I snorted as I crossed my arms, “No. That is not happening.” Jay lifted his eyebrow as he closed the fridge then opened his beer, “What? Do you really think it will be that bad about marrying me?”
I tilted my head, “One I don’t know you and two, I don’t love you.” He pouted to me as I shook my head, “Jay, I am not joking.” This is one of the reasons why I ran. Marrying a man that I don’t know, or love is not an option. I want that spark. I wanted that love. Not someone I needed to learn to love or hate my whole marriage.
He wiggled his eyebrow as he moved closer to me, “Here the thing kitty. I own you and if I say we are walking down that aisle then we are walking down that aisle.”
I snapped my head to him as he was inches from my face, “you said nothing about actually going through with it.” He shrugged his shoulders, “Still planning this all out.” I snarled his face, “I am not marrying you.”
Jay clenched his teeth as his hand went to the back of my neck then he entwine his hand through my hair. He yanked my hair back, “You will do whatever I say. Kitty. I own you. If you don’t then I send you straight back to your stepmother.”
No, god anything but that. Don’t send me back. He tilted his head to me, “So what is going to be? You going to go with my plan or back to step mommy you go.” I turned my head, “Fine. You win.” I held my finger up to him, “You don’t own me.” He chuckled as he lips brushed against mine, “I do. The sooner that you know that the better, kitty.”
Jay finally gave me a tour of the house that way I don’t look like an idiot walking around the house. I am supposed to be his fiancé, not some chick that just happened to be there. I can see myself still getting lost in this place. How big is this house? Well, he has an indoor pool, a music room, dining room, living room, a ball room for parties, kitchen with the latest appliances, a gym, nine bedrooms, five baths, and that is just the inside. Outside he has a pool, tennis court, a garden, horses, basketball court and hills for miles with a lake that splits the property to the hills. I mean the pool has it own waterfall.
Who the hell is this guy?
My family is well off, but this guy has way too much money that he doesn’t know what to do with it. I asked why he has two pools and he just shrugged his shoulders, “It gets cold during the winter months plus it allow privacy in door when I wants to skinny dip.” I blushed at ‘skinny dipping’.
He even has a library and an office. I sat in front of the fire after grabbing a book from the library. Jay is on the couch with his laptop in his lap when his sister walked into the living room. “Settled in?” He asked her. She nodded when she plopped on the couch next to him, “I am.”
She smirked at me as she tilted her head, “So, how did you two meet?”
I tilted my head as Jay froze. Oh, he didn’t come up with a cover story. I shrugged my shoulders, “I was hiding from the cops when my evil stepmother send them after me because I didn’t want to marry to guy, she wanted me to marry. I was in one of your brother properties. He locked me in overnight then told me that I have no choice but to marry him.”
Jay narrowed his eyes at me as his muscles tensed up when Andrea’s eyes widened then I let out a laugh, “Joking, we met at the club house that my father used to go to.”
Jay’s muscles relaxed when Andrea laughed hard, “I like her, Jay. You screw this up, I will so mess you up.” He smirked at her when he rolled his eyes, “She got some imagination.” Andrea smirked as I looked back down to my book. Damn, he got some interesting titles. Who knew he would have romantic stories in his library.
I sat on the bed later in the evening as Jay is pacing the floor, “Tomorrow morning, you and I need to go shopping. I thought I would have more time to get things here for you then Andrea had to show up.” I nodded as I laid my head back on to the bed, “Okay. We go shopping.” He shook his head, “We have to announce the engagement to make it believable.” He stopped when he threw his hands out, “What the hell was you thinking earlier?”
I shrugged my shoulders, “You froze, and I was giving me some time to come up with something that was believable.” He placed his hand through his hair, “Your stepmother is trying to force you into marrying someone?” I closed my eyes, “Does it really matter?” He shook his head, “I exhausted, let’s get rest. We have a big day tomorrow.”
