Chapter 3 Flash Marriage With A Gigolo
At the top of a skyscraper, a man stood by the expansive window, one hand casually resting in his pocket. His presence was commanding, reminiscent of a majestic eagle surveying its domain.
"Boss." Zayd Wood, his assistant, announced himself with a knock before stepping in. "I've found out more about the woman you encountered yesterday. I found something intriguing."
Shane pivoted gracefully, the morning sunlight casting a gentle glow on his striking features.
Zayd presented him with an iPad, revealing, "She's placed an ad online seeking a husband."
"Seeking a husband?"
Shane raised an eyebrow as he scanned the post. "Looking for a man who avoids gambling, is mentally stable, and wishes to marry soon."
Even after Shane's recent vow to take accountability for their past interaction, she proceeded to post this advertisement.
A twinge of insult brushed Shane.
At the same time, on the other side, Sheila had talked to more than fifty boys online in just half a day.
She diligently selected a few candidates for meetings, hoping to get to know them better. Yet, after hours of waiting in a cafe, none appeared.
They had all reneged on their commitments.
"Isn't this ironic?"
A sexy, resonant voice cut through Sheila's reflections.
Lifting her gaze, she found herself staring at the same man from last night, now dressed in casual attire, with one hand leisurely in his pocket, approaching with aristocratic ease.
"By yourself? Would you mind if I joined you?"
Sheila, mindful of their recent closeness, declined, "Sorry, this seat is taken."
Ignoring her reluctance, Shane smiled and gracefully sat across from her. "I heard you're in search of a husband?"
Sheila scrutinized him cautiously. "How did you know?"
With a refined query, Shane suggested, "Given our shared intimacy, aren't we more familiar than you are with those strangers? Why not consider me as an option?"
Sheila, pondering his poised stance, reflected on the unreliable individuals who had failed to meet her earlier.
Sheila's gaze sharpened as she coldly asked, "Is Rita behind this?"
Shane looked puzzled. "Rita? Who is she?"
"Don't play dumb! I'm aware of everything. Rita orchestrated your attempt to sleep with me last night. How much is she paying you to marry me?"
Sheila couldn't believe someone would use marriage as a mere financial deal.
Shane, detecting the contempt in Sheila's tone, felt his temper rise. "What do you take me for?"
"I believe you're not honorable," Sheila retorted with a dismissive smirk, placing money on the table. "Here's for the bill. Inform Rita that her schemes won't work on me twice!"
After saying that, Sheila stood up, determined to leave. But as she walked past him, he suddenly grabbed her wrist, pulling her back forcefully.
Suddenly, she ended up in his arms, sitting on his lap against her will.
He gripped her slim waist tightly, blocking any chance of escape.
Surrounded by his warmth, Sheila felt disoriented. As she tried to push him away, she demanded, "What are you doing? Release me!"
"Release you? Only if you explain why you think I'm dishonorable," Shane replied, amused by her attempts to free herself. However, his gaze intensified as he felt her body brushing against his own.
Feeling Shane's slight change, Sheila stopped moving, deciding not to argue more. Looking directly at him, she said, "You exchanged my innocence for money and planned to film us. Is that what a good person does?"
"Maybe you ought to consider yourself lucky it was me you spent that night with."
"What do you mean by that?" Sheila was intrigued yet skeptical.
"I had the hotel's security footage reviewed. After you were drugged, there was a man with a camera lurking around, likely the gigolo you mentioned. I ended up being the one who helped you by chance."
Sheila, taken aback, repeated, "What did you say?"
To persuade her, Shane set his phone down on the coffee table.
"Take a look at the proof. See for yourself if you doubt me."
Sheila eyed his phone skeptically, then unlocked it. The surveillance footage from the hotel corridor began to play.
The video showed a creepy-looking middle-aged man holding a camera, his gaze fixated on her with sinister intent.
The man only left after she stumbled into Shane's arms and they entered the hotel room.
Sheila felt a shiver down her spine, making her tremble.
Rita not only drugged her but also set up a disgusting gigolo to harm her.
She couldn't even fathom the possible outcomes if he recorded their intimacy.
"Why were you at the hotel if Rita didn't send you? The Green family reserved it for their event, and you needed an invitation to get in!"
Shane often booked the top floor of the hotel as his private space. After enjoying some drinks at a nearby event the night before, he opted to crash at the hotel for some downtime. Little did he know, Sheila would unexpectedly cross his path there.
After a brief pause, Sheila asked, "Were you hired by some rich lady to hang out with her at the hotel?"
Sheila was familiar with the ways of the rich and famous. In those circles, it wasn't unusual for wealthy women to rent private hotel rooms and spend time with attractive men for secretive rendezvous.
Given his good looks and perfect body, she guessed he might be a gigolo.
A vein throbbed in Shane's temple as he chuckled, amused by her wild guess. "You have a wild imagination!"
Did this imply something?
Looking straight at Shane, Sheila clenched her teeth and said firmly, "I don't care about the rest. If you're not tied to Rita, I can give it a try. Follow me..."
Shane's curiosity was piqued as he noticed her sudden shift. "So, where are we headed?"
"You're interested in marrying me, right? Let's go tie the knot. Now!"
