The train finally pulled into the station, and I bolted through the sliding doors like my life depended on it.

My heart thudded against my ribs as I rushed up the stairs.

I didn't dare look back at the man, nor did I want to think about what had just happened.

I practically threw myself into the office building lobby and dashed straight into the ladies' restroom.

Slumping against the stall door, my legs shook uncontrollably.

What a total nightmare.

And it was all Heath's fault!

If he hadn't stolen my underwear as a sick prank, I wouldn't have been subjected to that humiliation.

Fuming, I dug into my purse to find my phone and chew him out.

That was when I realized that in my morning rush, I had grabbed Heath's phone instead of mine!

I unlocked his screen to find my number, but a string of unread messages popped up.

The pinned chat at the very top was from my best friend, Lexi.

"Baby, what do you want for dinner tonight? I miss you so much~"

"I'm wearing that new lingerie set you bought me today. You're gonna love it~"

"Stop it, you're so bad! I wasn't trying to tease you on purpose~"

The texts were sickeningly explicit.

My brain buzzed, and my vision blurred into darkness.

The phone nearly slipped from my trembling fingers.

Heath, you absolute bastard!

Tears of rage and betrayal streamed down my cheeks.

We had been together for three years; he promised to marry me and build a life together.

Yet behind my back, he was sleeping with my closest friend!

Swallowing the searing pain, I took screenshots of their entire chat history and backed them up.

Then, I powered the phone off and shoved it deep into my bag.

Now was not the time to break down; I had a job to do.

Taking a deep breath to compose my face, I stepped out of the restroom.
