Chapter 1
The billionaire's secretary claimed that the real heiress, swapped twenty years ago, was at our group home. Whoever could prove their identity would inherit a multi-billion dollar fortune.
In the first life, that manipulative bitch Mabel stole my locket to claim the inheritance. The family tore her mouth apart.
"Imposter!" they screamed.
In the second life, my fake friend Lacey tattooed a birthmark on her back to get ahead. The family shredded every inch of her skin.
"Still an imposter!" they roared.
In the third life, my rival Vesper took out a loan for plastic surgery to look like the billionaire's wife. They threw her directly into a cage with starving mastiffs.
In the fourth life, no one dared to steal my identity. The others packed me up and sent me to their doorstep overnight.
When the DNA test proved I was the real daughter, everyone thought the nightmare was over. But on my first night home, the family pushed me off the penthouse balcony.
"Anyone who tries to steal our daughter's identity deserves to die!" they hissed as I fell.
I opened my eyes again to the secretary's smiling face. He was asking who the real heiress was.
Everyone scrambled backward in terror, screaming that they weren't the one.
The secretary's voice turned cold. "But our sources say the real heiress is definitely in this group home."

The four of us stared at the photocopy of the inheritance agreement. Our eyes were filled with pure terror.
The four of us were the only ones who fit the age range. We had all tried to claim that inheritance, and we had all died.
Did a real heiress even exist?
Lacey, my fake-sweet friend, looked at the secretary with a trembling lip. "Is it possible there is no heiress here? Maybe you have the wrong place?"
The secretary's smile didn't flicker. "Mr. Sterling has done his research. The daughter is here. We just aren't sure which one of you she is."
He pointed at the document. "The papers are ready. As soon as you prove your identity, you can sign and take over the empire."
Mabel, the manipulative little snake, backed away until she hit the wall. She shook her head violently. "It's not me! I... I'm actually much older than I look!"
Lacey, who usually tried to outshine me in everything, didn't care about her image anymore. She lifted her shirt to show her bare waist. "The heiress has a birthmark on her lower back, right? Look! I don't have one! It's definitely not me!"
Vesper followed suit, lifting her shirt. To make it even safer, she started babbling nonsense. "Actually, I was born a guy. I've had total reconstruction surgery. The gender doesn't even match! I can't be the one!"
They shared a quick look and suddenly shoved me to the front.
The secretary looked me up and down. "It seems it's you, Miss Sutton. You bear a striking resemblance to Mrs. Sterling."
"Come with me now," he added.
A chill ran down my spine. Was it too late to grab a knife and scar my own face?
In my last life, I was proud of that resemblance. I thought no matter how the others faked it, my face was the ultimate proof.
I really was the daughter.
I thought I'd finally found my parents. I thought I'd inherit billions and crush those three under my heels.
But as soon as they saw the DNA results, they pushed me off that building. I ended up as a red smear on the pavement.
"We will never allow anyone to replace our precious girl!" they had screamed.
The memory of every bone in my body shattering was impossible to forget. I couldn't understand it.
I was the real daughter. The DNA was a perfect match. Why did they call me an imposter?
I tried to find an excuse to deny it. But the secretary didn't push.
"I understand if you have some resentment since it took them so long to find you," he said smoothly. "I'll give you some time. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling will come to collect you personally in three days."
He left the photocopy of the billion-dollar agreement on the table.
Who could hold a grudge against that much money? But you had to be alive to spend it.
The four of us, usually busy sabotaging each other, sat in silence. Finally, we decided to talk.
They had all seen the birthmark on my back. Mabel had even stolen my heirloom locket from my suitcase once.
Combined with my face, there was no doubt who the heiress was. They couldn't understand why I was scared.
"You're saying you even did the DNA test?" Lacey asked. "It proved the bloodline, and they still killed you?"
"Are you deaf?" I snapped. "You were the ones who had to scrape me off the sidewalk. What are you questioning?"
Mabel sighed. "She's right. You were basically a puddle. I had nightmares for a week."
Vesper frowned. "We aren't questioning if you died. We're questioning how the real deal could be called a fake."
None of us knew. Four brains couldn't come up with a logical explanation.
Mabel started crying. "What do we do? We're the only four who fit the age. There are no other options."
"Those people are psychos," she continued. "If no one claims it in three days, I bet they'll kill us all."
None of us wanted to die. I thought hard and made a suggestion.
"The director has all our files. Maybe we can find a mistake. Maybe the real girl was adopted years ago and I'm just a lookalike?"
To save our lives, we went to the director's office. Mabel was his favorite, so a little flirting got us the files.
