Chapter 2
They played 5 games of poker, in the end, Noah ended up beating Christopher, and the only thing he had to pay was 50 dollars that, luckily, he had in his wallet because his father that morning had given him 200 dollars from his allowance. "Let's play darts. You know how to play them, right?" Noah says. “Yes, I know how to play it” Christopher replies confidently. Noah and Christopher stand up from their seats, place their poker cards on the table, and walk together until they reach the darts booth. They sit down again in a couple of seats, and then, Noah picks up the darts, waves them around with his hands for a couple of minutes, and throws them on the table to wait for the result. The game of darts begins, and Christopher has bad luck on his side, as he doesn't hit any of the 5 games they played. “Shit, Christopher, what's wrong with you tonight? Why are you losing out on everything? Where do you have your head today, brother? Noah asks, incredulous and surprised to learn that it wasn't Christopher's lucky night. "I don't know, I have no idea what's happening to me today, I thought it was going to be my lucky night," Christopher tells Noah with disappointment. "Do you want a drink? The house is inviting” Noah tells him with a mischievous smile that Christopher didn't understand. "Yes, that would be great" he replies with a slight smile on his lips. “Come, let's go to the bar” Noah orders. Christopher and Noah approach the bar, where there was only one man being served by the bartender. That man was staring into his drink, a drink that was whiskey, Christopher recognized him thanks to his honey color, the man looked depressed, but he looked like he had just left work. But Christopher and Noah ignore that man, and take three more seats away from him so that he wouldn't be aware of their conversations. Noah liked his privacy no matter who he was talking to, or what he was talking about. "Good evening sir, what would you like me to serve you tonight?" the bartender asks as he approaches them. "Good evening Tyler, what do you want to drink Christopher?" Noah says. “A glass of whiskey would be nice,” Christopher replies. “Ice or no ice?” asks the bartender. “Little ice, please,” he says. "And you sir?" the bartender asks Noah. “A glass of that new tequila you sent from Mexico this week, no ice,” Noah says. "That's called El Jimador, I'll give you your drinks," says the bartender. The bartender retreats to the place where he is busy serving their drinks, and Christopher and Noah stay there, Christopher stares at a blind spot without knowing what to say, and Noah stares at him thinking about what had happened that night . "There are more games of chance, but there are some that are only for professionals, and you have to bet money, and I doubt very much that you have enough to know if you can win or not," Noah proposes. Christopher is thinking about the situation, actually, that night, he had $1,200 dollars from his savings, and along with it, he had $200 dollars in his pocket from the monthly allowance that his father gave him, it would be enough for just one game per month. if I were to lose. “I have $1,400 dollars, I don't know if they can help me” says Christopher. The bartender has served his drinks, and has taken them to where they were. “Thank you Victor, and yes, $1,400 is enough to end the night, let's hope you can be the winner this time, cheers,” Noah says before delicately clinking his drink glasses. "Cheers," says Christopher. In a single sip, they drink from him, leaving their glasses empty, and leave the bar ready to leave to start a new betting game that night. They arrive at the place where the Russian roulette was located, and the dealer, a dark-haired man of 1.80 tall wearing an elegant suit, greets them. "Good evening Mr. Noah, would you like to play a game of Russian roulette?" asks the dealer. “Yeah, let's play, my friend has $1,400 to bet tonight,” Noah says as he places his hand on Christopher's shoulder. Christopher felt a lump in his throat, he wanted to do it, he wanted to play, but something inside him demanded that he not do it, that he was going to end up losing that night, and that the best thing for him would be to go home, accepting that this night had been a loser. “Well, $1,400 isn't a bad start to the night, go ahead, take your seats gentlemen, the game is on,” says the dealer. The game starts, but an hour later, Christopher finds himself in big trouble, because he has lost the bet, and not only has he lost his money, but now, Noah has set him up, the dirtiest trap Christopher has ever had. may have ever heard in his life; Noah hadn't told him that for that night, there was going to be a contest for Russian roulette players, each game would start betting $100,000,000 million dollars, there would be more than one competitor who would participate, but there would only be one winner. Christopher had inadvertently or asked for it, been entered into the game by Noah, and unfortunately, he had lost. Now, Christopher found himself in a dark room, Noah had called his two strong bodyguards to take him by force to the torture room, that's how Noah had named that room, and this was the place where the losers who did not want to pay their bets would be tortured until they agreed to pay, or until they died. Christopher was in trouble.
