Chapter 3 Our First Meeting

Eva's Point Of View

A black Mercedes parked in front of me, " so soon?" I asked the driver as he stepped out of the car.

"Excuse me?" The young man said.

I felt something was wrong, checking the car's plate number I realized it was not my car.

"I am sorry, I thought you were someone" I apologized to the driver and continued with my walking.

"Listen to me ma'am, why are you leaving? I have something to say " the driver said.

"What is that?" I asked, something about the way he spoke made me want to listen.

"Actually, the big boss is offering you a ride to wherever you are going, that is if you do not mind," the young man said, I could sense panic in his tone.

"And who is this big boss of yours? Why is he not out here to make that offer in person" I asked, narrowing my eyes at him.

"Well, it seems you do not know who my boss is, if you did you would not be rejecting his offer ma'am, " the driver said, a proud smile on his face.

"Is your boss some god or what?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Come find out for yourself ma," the driver said, a little giggle was heard.

The door of the car opened, straining my neck to catch a glimpse of the so-called big boss, I was disappointed.

A huge man walked over to the driver and whispered some words in his ears.

"Sorry ma'am, the big boss has run out of patience," the driver said, turned, and left.

I could hear the car roar to life as the driver turned on the ignition.

I heard the sound of a motorcycle, it stopped a few feet away from The Mercedes Benz. Paying close attention to the helmet, I saw a symbol on it. One of my many attackers, I have to get out of here.

Walking over to the Mercedes Benz, I opened the car's front door, " back seat" a voice said. The voice was deep and authoritative.

"Sorry," I mumbled an apology to the guard.

Opening the door to the backseat of the car, I saw a young man, whose face was hidden behind a mask.

I expected some sort of greeting like a hello or hi, but the young man seated next to me was mute.

Well since I was the guest here I should say hello.

"Thanks for the ride," I said as I sat down.

"Hm" was his reply.

I was taken aback, this was the first time I was meeting a man and it's been like five seconds already, why was he not saying anything about my eyes or facial features?

I got mad, for some reason I wanted this young man to compliment my eyes but no, he just stared into space.

"I am Eva," I said again, hoping this time I get a warmer reply from him.

"Did not ask" was all he said.

"I was just trying to be nice" I fired back at him, a hint of anger in my voice.

"Can you hear that?" He asked, eyes still staring at nothing in particular.

"Hear what? The silence in this car is deafening " I said, my eyebrows knitted together.

"Exactly, be quiet and just tell the driver where he is to drop you off," he said and closed his eyes.

"Okay, now this dude is just plain rude! I am the Eva! And he is acting like some god! I am seated in his car, does he have any idea what that means? He should be thanking his stars, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. " I said in my head.

"If you are done cursing me in your head, please tell the driver where he is to drop you off at, " he said.

"Curse you! Why would I curse you " I asked in disbelief, can he read minds? Nah.

"No I can not read minds, also the driver is still waiting Miss, " he said opening his eyes.

I told the driver my address and sealed my lips afterward.

"He is so boring! No music in here, no conversation in here, no nothing. Seems like a graveyard to me. I blame you Sentinel" I was talking to myself again.

"Try finding out more about this guy, you have the car's plate number that is a starting point, " the voice in my head said.

"But that is an invasion of privacy, do not do that Eva. If you do that you are also being rude. " another voice in my head snapped at me.

"Forget all that and think of ways to meet George Wright, he is a very busy man and no one in the world knows his exact location. You have a very important mission and that should be your top priority. Forget about this guy and think about George " the first voice snapped at me.

Closing my eyes and taking a deep breath, I tried to calm myself.

My mind slowly drifted away to George Wright, I thought of how to meet him and gain his trust and friendship. How to make him fall in love with me and put a ring on my finger, and find out all about his dirty deals. Six months should be enough time for me to complete the mission.

The sound of my phone's ring tone brought me out of my thoughts.

"Hello".

"Where are you, Eva?" Mum asked I could hear the sound of her footsteps as she paced nervously.

" I am on my way home," I said, side-eye at the young man.

"What do you mean way home? I sent a driver to pick you up and he said no one was there! Did you get abducted, Eva? If you are in danger say nothing, I will send the rescue team immediately" Mother said.

"I am fine Mother, trust me" I tried to assure Mother.

"Alright take care," she said and hung up the phone.

"Thanks for the ride," I said, opened the car, and stepped out.

"What is Sentinel"
