Chapter 1

I died a pathetic death after Sienna Sutherland broke my heart.

When she was spiraling and giving up on life after her breakup with Gavin Grayson, I was the one who saved her. I was the one who stayed by her side and eventually became her husband.

But our happy marriage shattered the moment Gavin returned to the States.

The sight of them walking into a hotel together set my soul on fire. In a fit of blind rage, I floored the gas and crushed them both under my wheels before my own heart gave out.

Now, I am back. I have returned to the very day I killed them.

This time, I'm going to let them be together.

I felt like I had been trapped in a never-ending nightmare. My mind was filled with the scent of copper and the sight of shattered glass.

I could still see Sienna and Gavin's broken bodies. I could still feel the hot blood I spat out as my heart failed from pure agony.

That was my past life. A life where I murdered the woman I loved and her first love before dying on the spot.

But now, I am awake. Sienna is standing right in front of me, putting the finishing touches on her makeup.

"So, this is what you do all day? Just sleep until noon?"

Sienna glanced at me with a look of pure disgust. As she moved, the heavy scent of her perfume filled the room.

She had dozens of bottles, but today, she chose the one Gavin used to love.

"I'm heading out for a business meeting. I don't know when I'll be back," she said.

The conversation was hauntingly familiar. I grabbed my phone and checked the date. It was her birthday.

I really had been reborn. I was back on the day all three of us died.

In my previous life, I believed her lie. I stayed home like a fool, waiting for her to finish her work.

I had prepared a romantic candlelight dinner and a thoughtful gift, hoping to surprise her.

But I reheated those dishes over and over. Midnight came and went, and Sienna never showed up.

Frantic with worry, I searched half the city for her.

Then, I saw a post on Gavin's social media. I recognized Sienna's coat draped over the chair in the background immediately.

In that moment, my heart felt like it was being pierced by ice.

I drove like a madman to the restaurant Gavin had tagged. I saw them through the window, laughing and talking.

They looked like a pair of young lovers in the middle of a honeymoon phase. My blood boiled.

I stormed in and took all my rage out on Gavin. We traded blows, rolling on the floor.

But Sienna didn't help me. She pushed me away to shield Gavin.

He wiped the blood from his lip and looked at me with cold eyes. "You've clearly misunderstood. Perhaps I should reintroduce myself."

He handed me a business card and a contract from the table.

Gavin was now the head of a massive foreign investment firm. He claimed he was only there to discuss a merger with Sienna's company.

Sienna screamed at me for being a child. She forced me to apologize to him.

I apologized. Then I left. But as they drove toward a hotel, laughing and whispering, I rammed my car into theirs... again and again.

The memories flashed by, but the pain wasn't the same this time.

The thrill of being reborn replaced the old anger. I jumped out of bed, looking energized and almost manic.

"Caleb Sterling, what is wrong with you?" Sienna snapped.

"I told you, I have an important meeting. If you're so bored, go handle your own family's business!"

She turned to leave, desperate to get to Gavin.

I watched her graceful figure walk away and felt a smirk tugging at my lips. "Fine," I replied simply.

She was right. It was time for me to take over the Sterling empire.

In my last life, I poured everything into Sienna. I spent my days expanding her company and securing her investments.

I wanted her to feel successful, so I did it all behind the scenes. I never took the credit.

But in her eyes, I was just a lazy husband who did nothing all day.

This time, my focus would be on my own career.

Sienna noticed the smile on my face and scoffed. "You really are hopeless."

She grabbed her designer bag and headed for the door.

After a few steps, she paused. "If you're hungry, tell the housekeeper to make something. Try to act like an adult for once."

"Sienna," I called out.

She turned around, looking surprised. Since our wedding, I rarely called her by her full name.

"What? Did I hurt your precious ego?" her tone remained cold.

I used to think this woman was my soulmate. I thought we would grow old and gray together.

But now, looking at her didn't even make my heart flutter.

"Let's get a divorce."

Sienna froze. She stared at me for a long time, clearly caught off guard.

Then, her face twisted into a mask of annoyance again.

"Caleb, do you think this is funny?"

"If you weren't such a loser, I wouldn't have to work this hard every single day!"
