The moment Tyler squeezed the so-called "lube" inside me, the warmth I expected never came.

Instead, a searing, tearing pain shot through my body.

I tried to scramble away, to curl up like a wounded animal.

"Surprise!"

A figure shot out from under the bed, accompanied by the loud pop of a party cannon.

"Tyler, I knew you had it in you! This is what Truth or Dare is all about!"

It was Casey, Tyler's childhood best friend.

I stared at them in disbelief as a cold sweat soaked the sheets.

Casey dangled a bright yellow bottle of mustard in her hand, clutching her stomach as she howled with laughter.

"Oh, come on, Chloe. It's just a game. Tyler lost a dare, so he had to use mustard instead of lube. You're not gonna be a spoilsport, are you?"

The pain down there made me want to scream a string of curses.

And Tyler, my legal husband, just stood there with his chin tilted up, looking proud of himself.

"Don't worry, Casey. Chloe can handle it."

He shot me a dismissive glance, his voice cold. "After all, she begged me to drag her out of that trailer park. She knows how to be grateful for the little things."

A bitter smile formed on my face as tears streamed down my cheeks.

Fine. If our marriage is a joke to you, then I'm done playing this game.
