Of course, Logan didn't rush to the hospital.

From the very beginning, he never believed I was actually pregnant.

Over the phone, his voice was dripping with mocking disdain. "Where is Tessa? Put her on the line!"

"It's bad enough that she's throwing a fit, but she dragged you into this lie too? Making up a story just to trick me into rushing back to see her?"

Gigi choked with rage, barely able to breathe. Before she could cuss him out, the line went dead.

Tears of fury welled in Gigi's eyes.

She handed the phone back to me, still fuming. "What kind of monster is he? The Mercer brothers are both absolute scum!"

I gave her a pale, weak smile and shook my head. "Gigi, let it go. Since we've decided on divorce, there's no point in having him come here to make a scene. Maybe in the past I would have begged him to show up, but now..."

I took a deep, bitter breath.

"When you have no love and no hope left for someone, you can't be disappointed anymore."

I asked Gigi to call a lawyer to draft divorce agreements for both of us.

Gigi and I had grown up together as inseparable best friends.

Back when we married the Mercer brothers, we thought becoming sisters-in-law would let us stand together through thick and thin.

Now, getting married on the same day and divorcing on the same day felt like poetic destiny.

Logan completely ignored the divorce agreement I sent him.

Instead, Derek was the first to call Gigi, unleashing a furious barrage of accusations.

"Are you pushing for a divorce over those stupid tabloid rumors again? I told you you're just overthinking. Can't you be a little more mature?"

"How many times do I have to explain? It's just publicity arranged by the studio for the co-stars! If you insist on misunderstanding, there's nothing I can do."

The two brothers were truly cut from the same cloth, sharing the exact same talent for stabbing people where it hurt most.

By now, Gigi didn't even have the energy to argue with him.

Derek impatiently tossed out a final remark. "Whatever, I have scenes to shoot."

"Do whatever you want. If you want a divorce, be my guest!"
