Chapter 2 II

Jason

"Why did you bring me here?" I asked Rufous why he suddenly showed up.

"What do you think about how I look? I showed you my reflection on purpose by the river. I'm a big bad wolf, innit?" He faced a British accent, and it sounded funnier when I pictured him saying his wolf form.

"I know what you are thinking." He chuckled. "We are even now since I made you laugh."

"Nah. Tell me why you are just showing up." I ask him.

He didn't respond.

"Ok, did you show up because this damsel was in distress? Who is she, by the way?"

I didn't get any response from him again.

"Stop messing with me, Rufous."

"Can you keep it down? I'm trying to think about what we will do to your mate. Her wolf, Raina, is my mate. She is so beautiful, and she's as white as snow with her ocean blue eyes.."

"Shut up. If you will not answer my questions, do not talk to me." I stressed DO NOT so he would realize I wasn't playing with him.

"Ask me any other question you have not asked me today. I promise to answer you."

"Really? OK then. Why did you call me Creed? I only hear a woman call me Creed in my dreams."

"Oh that? She's your mom. She named you Creed. Your father and his wolf are shabby creatures. He named you Jason. He Changed your name."

My mom. She named me Creed.

"Are you moved?" He asked me.

I ignored him, doing what he did earlier to me.

"Take her to your pack house. Things will fall in place. She was poisoned. She probably won't know a thing when she wakes up. Her name is Chloe."

I looked at the lifeless girl in my arms and I increased my pace so I could get to the pack house real quick.

The lights in the pack house were off. Without turning them on I tiptoed in.

The lights came on and my stepmother and Reign were sitting down on the couch in the living room. I froze on seeing them. These freaks just stayed in the dark and they were talking.

"Look who's going to be a rogue soon." My stepmom jested me. "I hope you are well-prepared."

"Who's in your arms? You found your mate? Did she die already?" Reign questioned me.

"Do not deny her." Rufous growled.

I was scared of naming her as my mate so my stepmother and my brothers won't dote on her.

"She's not my mate. I found her on the floor. She was unconscious. Plus, I sure learned a thing or two about good deeds from you guys and who's going to be a rogue soon? Me? Me? No, that’s not me.”

“Bloody fool, you just put Chloe in a dangerous put.” Rufous complained.

“Hey! What’s with the attitude?” Reign hit me hard on my head.

“Calm your balls, Creed. We need to get Chloe treated. Ignore the fool. You are not strong enough to fight with me,” Rufous pacified me. His favorite word is bloody fool.

I needed to get Chloe to the infirmary quickly.

“I am sorry.” I apologized reluctantly to Reign so he would let me go.

“Bow your head and run to the infirmary. She looks sexy. She might be useful in the future.”

My Blood boiled when I heard him talk about her like she was an object. I curled my first into balls and bowed my head, then I ran to the infirmary. I felt sick from my stomach. Rufous was right. I am weak. I laid Chloe on the bed in the infirmary, and the nurse checked her up. She had already shifted back to her human form.

“Her human body is allergic to chlorine. You brought her in late. If you were later than this, she would have died. Where did you find her?” The nurse questioned, but it was more like an interrogation.

“By the riverside.”

“What was she doing?”

“She emerged from the river, then she suddenly passed out and shifted to her wolf.”

“She was poisoned. It wasn't just Chlorine.” Rufous said to me. The nurse administered some drugs and injections. She gave me a bottle of ointment to rub all over her skin till the daybreaks before she clocked out, leaving me to watch Chloe alone.

“Who poisoned her?” I asked Rufous after the nurse left.

“My knowledge is limited, Creed. I am not a god. I don’t know everything.”

None of us said anything for a while.

“She looks ravishing, by the way. Even with the bruises on her, I could eat her.”

“Shut up, perv. You can’t control yourself because you have never been with a woman.” Rufous said. “Raina is prettier than Chloe, anyway. I can understand how you feel. I feel the same when Raina is around.”

“Hahaha. So funny Rufous, I bet you could joke that you look better than me.”

“Is that supposed to be a joke? That is a fact, man. Don’t play with me.”

“Shut up, Rufous, piss off, stop being a chatterbox.”

“Okay, I will sleep since I am tired. Take care of Chloe. Raina needs her.”

“Bye Selfish wolf,”

Bye, Bloody human.”

“I will rip your mouth off your face.” I threatened him but he didn’t respond. He had slept or was ignoring me on purpose.

I kept putting the ointment on Chloe's body, and her wounds were healing. After the injuries covered up, the pretty name tattoo she had on her chest became clear.

She wrote her name CHLOE in a gothic style that aligns with her skin. I didn’t know when my fingers trailed the tattoo on her chest. I kept doing that till I slept up.

Soon, I woke up to a tight but weak grip on my neck and my legs were above the ground, raising me up in the air. The person holding my neck was so weak and tenacious.
