Chapter 2 No.2

Emily looked at me and sighed, "I know you're not happy, but think about it. Having a child means that when we're old, he can visit us and take care of us. Otherwise, do you want to live alone for the rest of our lives?"

I laughed bitterly and said, "Why didn't you tell me earlier? Why did you have to wait until after my surgery?"

Emily fell silent, knowing full well in her heart why she had done it.

"Have you already made up your mind to have a baby with him? So you didn't say these words to me until the operation was over?"

I looked up at her, gazing at this woman who I had loved for three years.

She was wearing a floral dress today, with her hair cascading down on both sides, looking youthful and beautiful.

For so many years, she had always been like this.

But what she had done and said today were nothing but thorns piercing my heart.

After a long silence, Emily bent down and picked up the pillow on the floor.

"I've told you that I will only have a baby with him. Besides, don't you always want a baby? What are you making a fuss about?"

I was so angry that my face turned red. "I want our child."

Looking at my angry face, Emily said coldly, "You are emotionally unstable now. I will come to see you later."

Then she closed the door and left.

I was left alone in the ward, feeling a chill in my heart.
