Chapter 1 Marco Had Gone To A Hotel With His First Love

It was growing dark.

Loraine Torres paused in front of Room 5202, staring at the closed door.

Her thoughts were in turmoil.

"You're hideous! My brother and Keely are crashing in a hotel. You need to split from my brother ASAP. Don't stand in the way of their reunion..."

Recalling the phone call from her sister-in-law, Marina Bryant, Loraine felt both saddened and absurd.

Today marked the third anniversary of her marriage to Marco Bryant. Despite having a high fever, she had prepared a lavish dinner and awaited Marco's return with great anticipation.

But then she received news that Marco had gone to a hotel with his first love, who had just returned!

Despite this, she needed to see it for herself.

Once she had the hotel name and room number, Loraine hurried to the hotel.

Standing at the door, Loraine shook her head, trying to clear the dizziness.

She was unsure of what she would say or do upon entering the room...

Dazed, Loraine pressed the doorbell.

It seemed the occupant was expecting her. As soon as she rang the bell, the door slowly opened.

A woman in a sexy night gown stood in the doorway.

Loraine recognized her instantly—it was Keely.

She was the woman Marina claimed Marco had loved for many years, who had left the country three years earlier due to an illness and had now returned...

Keely's expression hardly changed upon seeing Loraine.

She gave Loraine a cold up-and-down look.

Loraine's face was delicate, but now it was unusually red, and her eyes showed signs of severe fatigue, indicating she might be ill.

Keely smirked.

"Are you looking for Marco?"

Loraine pressed her lips together tightly. She was so overwhelmed with emotion that she couldn't speak for a moment.

Keely shot her a defiant and arrogant look.

"You should go back. Don't make a fool of yourself. Marco has only ever loved me, and you mean nothing to him. You've had him for three years. Now it's time to give him back to me."

Hearing this, Loraine felt as if her heart had been pierced by a knife, so painful that it was difficult to breathe.

Yet her pride would not allow her to display any weakness.

Loraine looked at the woman in front of her without any expression and responded icily, "Miss Haywood, don't forget that as long as we're still married, you are nothing more than a shameless mistress!"

Her words struck Keely hard, and Keely's face instantly contorted with anger.

Ignoring the furious Keely, Loraine pushed past her and entered the room.

As soon as she walked in, she heard the sound of water running in the bathroom.

This deepened the ache in Loraine's heart. She clenched her fists and fought through the pain.

Keely, stung by Loraine's words, didn't halt.

She caught up with Loraine and stood in front of her, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Loraine, why are you so stubborn? Let me tell you, I'll have you divorced in no time."

Loraine was upset and didn't grasp what she meant.

Suddenly, Keely grabbed a fruit knife from the table.

She looked at Loraine and then plunged the knife into her own belly without a second thought.

"Are you insane?"

Loraine felt a sense of dread.

Panicked, she tried to restrain Keely by grabbing her wrist.

Unexpectedly, Keely shook off her grasp.

During the struggle, the sharp knife slashed Loraine's arm, and blood immediately began to flow.

Loraine cried out in pain, and the intense pain forced her to let go.

Seizing the moment, Keely stabbed herself in the abdomen.

Under Loraine's shocked gaze, Keely managed a triumphant smile.

Then, Keely called out loudly towards the bathroom.

"Marco, help! Loraine is trying to kill me!"

Loraine's eyes widened in shock, and just then, the bathroom door burst open.

Marco emerged in his bathrobe.

He saw Loraine, her arm bleeding heavily, and then Keely, also bleeding from her abdomen, and his face filled with fury.

Loraine tried to speak, but the high fever and the loss of blood from her arm overwhelmed her, and she collapsed into a pool of her own blood.

Before losing consciousness, Loraine saw Marco ignore her completely, quickly lift Keely, and rush out, leaving her lying on the cold floor surrounded by bright red blood...
