I scoff and walk out of her pres£nce. My only problem right now is how on Earth did she find out. Did she follow us ? Or maybe she overheard us ? What if she saw him with me ? I find my way to the bush and climb the trees to the top. I sit at the top and stare at the clouds. Why can’t my life be better. Basically Dylan is a vampire , it’s obvious cause he smells different. His eyes are perfect like the blue sea . His skin is pale and it glows too. His smile is heart warming and I’m not feeling better. What’s this called ? Maybe depression. I could see the sea from afar and it’s cold breeze brush against my skin. I heard Elna groan as she made her way to the top of the tree. Yeah , she’s supposed to be staying in a cave. Her ideas are always different from mine and it hurts. We stayed there till evening and we climbe-d down the trees. We rush back to the others and dad was talking with adriel , my older brother. I greeted them and entered my room. I stayed in there till morning. Elna had to wake me up reminding me it’s Bambi’s practice. I wasn’t in the mood and I don’t feel like. I reluctantly stand up and get myself cleaned up. ” You were up late huh ?” She ask on our to practice. I nodded absently. Practice that morning was better , this time I had to beat Elna up. I’ve always beaten her up , just had to make her look like a heroine for once. I walk to the backyard to get water only to be greeted by Akeelah’s hateful words. ” Peaches…” I hate her. I’m watching you, peaches..” she sm-irks and walk out. Will I ever be free from her ? I walk back to the front yard and Elna is laughing with Bambi. I joined them but I wasn’t concentrating. About a week and I was trying to forget the fact that I saw Dylan. I could ba-rely forget the smile . Elna nudge me with her arm as I smile lightly. I look up at Diana, the goddess of fertility and nature. We believe she made us , seriously and that feels weird to me. We owe her our service and we must die as virgins. I drop the basket of fruits on the feet of her statue as Elna did same , including every other person. I look into her smiling eyes of her statue and sigh. To our believe , each time you’re sad and depressed, look into her smiling eyes and all will be better. I did as I believed and maybe I truly feel better. Every other person vacate her presence but I didn’t. Elna stood close to me as she placed her hand around my shoulders. ” Still thinking about the vampire kid ?” She mocks. ” None of your business..” I joke and chuckle. ” Trust me , you should focus on our island and not on a vampire.” I huff irritatingly and she find it funny cause she laughed. Suddenly we heard a loud noise from afar , it sounds like a gun. ” Did you hear that ?” Elna question me. Of course i did. We wh!pour head to look at what’s happening. The next thing we heard was wailing and continued firing of guns. ” No, it can’t be true.” We run towards the main village and the sight almost made me collapsed. They were everywhere , foreigners with large guns and they are destroying our island. ” This can’t be true.” Elna mutter behind me. One of this foreigners hold my mom as I run to fight them. A loud noise and strong wind knock me to the ground. Everywhere looks blurry cause I can’t see properly. Objects flew to the air as I felt a strong wind. I look up to the sky and saw a strong whirlwind , no it’s a tornado. ” No…” I mutter. Elna lean close to me as Len tried to hold me. The strong wind that accompany the tornado almost sent me airborne. I look down trying to avoid dirt from traveling into my eyes. There was loud noise every where as everyone wail including this foreigners , they were shock. ” What’s happening ?” Elna scream still holding me. In a glimpse , I felt a hvge force and I really don’t know what happened , every single one except the foreigners was magneted by the tornado. They twirl in pain as they disappear inside the tornado. I stand up and tried to run to my mom and family but it was too late. They disappeared in my pres£nce. The tornado took every single person away. I fall to my knees and weep. There was no single person except Len and Elna . The whole island was deserted. I look up at the foreigners and they seem surprised too. Who did this ? Dylan was the only one who knew about our new refuge. I can’t believe I was betrayed. I felt a sting on my neck as I quickly touçhed my neck. My head ache and I couldn’t see properly. My eyes are blurry and everything falls on a distant. I heard this foreigners chatter and i couldn’t pick out the snippets. My stomach was hot as I crash to the ground. I couldn’t remember anything anymore. Everywhere seems blank.
