Chapter 3 First Day Working

There was no one who didn't know how handsome and rich Richard Lewis was. Many women dreamed of becoming his companion because of his good looks and wealth. However, he didn't care about any of the women who approached him. Since he was left behind by Luna, his best friend since college, he suddenly became anti-woman.

For him, women are troublesome. In fact, there were rumors that Richard was gay because he interacted with William and Tio all the time. But Richard didn't care about any of that. For him, work was number one. He didn't need a woman in his life.

"Good morning, Mr. Richard," greeted Vio kindly with a smile. Today Vio looked so beautiful and elegant in her light brown blazer.

"Save that smile! You want to tease me, don't you?" snapped Richard fiercely. "Read me my schedule from today to the next week?" he continued brusquely.

Actually, when Richard entered earlier, he was stunned by Vio's beautiful smile. However, he immediately brushed off that strange feeling. He diverted his stupor with his rude remark just now.

"You crazy boss! Who would want to flirt with a refrigerator like him. Be patient, Vio, remember your paycheck, Vio!" Vio thought to herself.

"Sorry, sir. Your schedule today... 10am meeting with shareholders, 1pm lunch with a client from the UK, tomorrow at 9 am meeting with a client from Japan..."

Vio continued to recite Richard's schedule that she had memorized by heart.

"Okay, get ready, Secretary Viola!" Richard ordered Vio firmly and straightforwardly without the slightest smile. Though in his heart, Richard was amazed at Vio's intelligence who could remember his schedule for the next week. 'That's a good memory,' Richard praised in his heart.

The meeting went well and smoothly until lunch time finally arrived. Vio deliberately went around the office to get acquainted with the other office staff. It didn't take long for Vio to mingle with the staff there. Her soft-spoken, but joking, mouth made her adapt quickly to the others. Especially the male employees who were fascinated by Vio's beauty.

"Introducing, I'm Ricky, the finance manager. Greetings. I hope you feel at home working with our boss."

Ricky was so fascinated by Viola's beauty and flexibility that he didn't realize he was still holding Viola's hand when shaking hands earlier.

"Mr. Ricky, please condition your hand! Take turns, we also want to get to know each other," nagged Dimas.

Dimas brushed Ricky's hand away from Viola and smiled sweetly at the girl. "I'm Dimas, administrative staff. Welcome to the company, Viola."

Viola gave him a beautiful smile. "Hello, greetings to everyone. It's nice to meet you. Please guide me! I'm also still training here. I hope I can get hired here."

"I hope you get hired, Vio," said Renny, the finance staff.

"The important thing is to be resilient to our boss's behavior. Just obey! Guaranteed to be safe, Vio," continued Sarah, the HR staff.

"Is our boss really strict?" asked Vio curiously. Ricky smiled as he looked closely at Viola's face. "Yes, our boss is strict, cold, and a bit cruel, Vio. But don't worry! If you have any difficulties, just ask me, I'm ready to help whenever you need it," Ricky continued teasingly.

"Modus, I know, sir!" said Renny, Sarah and Dimas in unison while laughing loudly.

"The important thing is to be dexterous and obedient, Vio. It's guaranteed to be safe," they continued.

Vio was happy that, on her first day at work, she had been well received by her coworkers. Lunch in the cafeteria continued, accompanied by the laughter of the four of them.

Viola, call the boss to his office, now!" called Tio, interrupting the girl's merry laughter who was having fun in the company cafeteria.

"Yes, sir," Viola replied politely.

"I'll go to the boss's room first. See you later," Viola waved to her colleagues. Viola hurried to CEO Richard's room.

"Can I help you, sir," Viola asked kindly with a smile still on her lips.

"Don't smile!" scolded Richard fiercely, unwilling to see Vio's charming smile.

'Geez! You can't even smile?" Vio screamed to herself. "Yes, sir." Vio chose to keep her head down, not wanting to be yelled at again.

"Immediately reserve the most expensive restaurant for tonight's client meeting! You're coming too. Our client today is from America. Make sure he wants to work with us! Here's the company card, buy some nice clothes to wear tonight. Go now!" Richard ordered loudly.

"But, sir. Tonight's schedule, not with the American client, but-"

"No need to argue!" snapped Richard again. The man was getting annoyed with his secretary-to-be. "This meeting is impromptu. Cancel the previous meeting!" he said with his flat face and sharp gaze.

"Yes, sir. Excuse me!" Viola replied frightened. For a long time, Viola could get nervous about being yelled at all the time. The girl wondered why her boss was always so angry. Is there something wrong with her? Vio immediately left her boss's room for the boutique with a question mark in her heart.

"Here are the car keys, Viola. Just use it to go to the boutique. You can drive, right?" asked Tio's assistant.

"I can, sir. Then excuse me!" replied Viola, taking the keys from Tio and rushing to the boutique.

Meanwhile in the CEO's room, William, Richard's best friend who had just arrived, could only shake his head at his friend's behavior.

"Getting angry all the time, you'll get old soon," he teased.

"If you don't have anything important to do, why don't you go outside?" snapped Richard.

"Relax! I just want to see your new secretary. Isn't she pretty?" asked William flirtatiously.

"Don't bother my future secretary! Just take care of your girlfriends and bedmates!" threatened Richard irritably.

"Possessive is the story," William chuckled. "If it's pretty, I'll date it. Don't forbid me! She's free, not yours," William teased again. The man held back his laughter. Because he knew that soon his best friend would go berserk.

"Don't mess with me! I'm fired, will you?" threatened Richard harshly then without caring about his best friend, Richard walked away from William.

William was upset at being ignored. The handsome man finally followed Ricard while exclaiming. "Uh, where are you going? Maen just stay. Richard, wait!"

"This looks pretty," Viola muttered as she fitted the dress to her body. "Won't the CEO be angry? If I buy this one? It's a pretty dress, but it's thin. I'll think I'm flirting with a client again." Vio was monologuing to herself.

After choosing, the choice finally fell on a long, sleeveless black dress with silver embellishments that looked elegant, complete with an outer that added to the elegance of the dress. Vio immediately paid for the clothes and returned to the office to prepare the documents for tonight's meeting.

"Hopefully tonight I can help the chairman deal with the American client, as well as prove that I deserve to work at this company."
