In my past life, at the Global Medical Innovation Summit, my junior colleague, Chloe Miller, presented a breakthrough heart medication that was identical to mine.

My boyfriend, Zack Shaw, stood up in front of everyone to testify for her, claiming I was the liar and that the medication was the result of Chloe's years of research.

Hearing those exact same words from my past life, I froze for a second before my heart began to race violently.

In my previous life, I was obsessed with developing a drug to treat congenital heart disease.

But then, Zack, my boyfriend of three years, stood up to defend Chloe.

"Anya, stop lying to yourself!"

He looked at me with a face full of disappointment.

"Everyone, I am Anya Reed's boyfriend. I can testify that this drug is not her work. From what I know, she stole the research she brought today from Ms. Chloe Miller!"

Zack's testimony caused an absolute scandal.

I tried to show everyone the data from my lab computer to prove my innocence.

To my horror, five or six years' worth of files had been wiped clean, leaving no trace behind.

With Zack and Chloe working together, I was labeled a talentless thief and banned from the medical community.

Trolls posted videos of the scene online, leading to a year of relentless cyberbullying.

My parents, ashamed of the scandal, kicked me out and cut all ties with me.

In the end, while wandering the streets in a daze, I was killed in a random, violent attack.

Zack and Chloe built their fame on my bones.

I snapped back to reality and silently closed the food container, telling Zack to leave.

Right now, I couldn't stand to sit at the same table with the man who helped kill me.

Zack looked stunned, his expression turning sour.

In our three years together, I had never given him the cold shoulder like this.

He didn't know what had gotten into me, so his fake warmth vanished instantly as he grabbed the food and walked out.

Once he was gone, I calmed my nerves and went back into the lab.

I immediately began backing up all my data and research files to take with me.

According to the timeline of my past life, I would have finished the final prototype next week.

But now, I had no intention of finishing it.
