Nora was clearly unhappy with my silence.

"It's been a week since the breakup. Does this look normal to you? Unless you never intended to let go."

Suddenly, she let out a weird cry as if she'd figured something out.

"No way! Are you actually trying to manipulate him?"

"Everyone said you were stringing him along, and I didn't believe them. I even defended you! You've really disappointed me!" Nora said sarcastically.

"Aria, you're so fake. Your tactics to control men are quite impressive."

While the comments were calling for my blood, my phone suddenly rang.

It was an unknown number.

It was Everett.

I had blocked his number right after the breakup.

He was persistent, calling from a different number every single day.

I didn't want anything to do with him anymore.

Just as I was about to hang up, Nora was faster.

She snatched the phone from my hand, answered it, and hit the speaker.

Everett's deep, lazy voice filled the room.

"Princess, you finally decided to answer my call."

He sounded so composed, so in control.

"Come down. I'm outside your dorm."

A series of screams erupted from outside the building.

I leaned out the window to look.

A black Bentley was parked right in front of the dorm.

The trunk was open, overflowing with vibrant, fresh roses.

In the middle of the sea of flowers sat a set of high-end jewelry.

Under the faint winter sun, the gems sparkled brilliantly.

Everett was leaning against the car door, wearing a long black coat.

He looked devastatingly handsome.

Nora's face flushed instantly, her expression turning shy.

"Everett, it's me."

There was a pause on the other end of the line.

Nora wasn't embarrassed at all. She introduced herself with confidence.

"On Aria's birthday, I drank for you when people were hovering. Do you remember?"
