Chapter 3 Alliance through Marriage, I'm Interested

After giving the address, Thea detected a flash of visible ridicule across Shawn's cold eyes.

She should have read it right. It was ridicule.

"Did... I say anything inappropriate?" Thea asked gingerly for fear of offending such a powerful man as soon as she came to this world.

Shawn took a glance at her and spoke in an indifferent tone, "Tell her."

From the front, the driver spoke in a bland tone, "Miss Jordan, all the property under your name has been frozen. That includes but not limited to bank cards, credit cards, and... real estates."

Thea muttered blankly, "Frozen?"

"Yes, Miss Jordan." The driver still sounded emotionless.

Thea dropped her eyes, thought for a while, and figured it out... She was no longer the young lady of the Jordan family. In his anger, his boss 'dad' must have taken back everything under her name.

"Miss Jordan, you may not know this, but if you didn't get in Mr. Bryant's car, you should have been drugged by some hooligans, and indecent photos of you should have spread far and wide on the internet." The driver continued in a bland tone.

Appalled, Thea took a glance at Shawn and instantly frowned.

She didn't need to think to know that the culprits against her host should be that pair of mother and daughter... Lily Cole, the mistress, and her high-school student daughter, Marilyn Cole showed up tonight.

But... this didn't make sense!

Lily and Marilyn already disclosed 'Thea's' identity and kicked her out of the house. If she was really not the young lady of the Jordan family, why did they have to do this?

Thea took a tumble almost instantly!

'Thea' and her mother were wronged! That DNA report was fabricated!

That was why Lily and her daughter were so desperate to have 'Thea' killed.

Unable to stand the stimulation and insult, Mrs. Jordan jumped off the building and committed suicide. If 'Thea' was insulted by hooligans and that kind of pictures was taken, she would also be very likely to commit suicide.

Thea took another sideways glance at the man next to her, and a shiver crept on her spine. So, this man... also knew the truth?

Otherwise, why would he ally with an expelled lady through marriage?
