On the day of the engagement party, Seraphina spent nearly two hours in the dressing room.

She usually didn't care much for makeup.

Even on our first date, she just wore casual clothes.

Today, however, she put on a luxurious white designer gown.

She didn't look like a guest.

She looked like she wanted to be the bride.

I pretended not to care and made a casual remark.

"It's just a party to show our support. You don't need to dress up so formally, do you?…"

But Seraphina just smirked, a meaningful look in her eyes.

"Since it's your ex's wedding, of course I have to look my best. I can't let you lose face."

"I'm going to outshine Meredith today, no matter what."

Hearing those words, I could only force a smile.

I had no intention of exposing her little game.

When the party started and we saw Meredith in her relatively plain outfit, Seraphina could barely hide her smugness.

Her high-end gown cost her nearly fifteen thousand dollars from head to toe.

She completely crushed Meredith in terms of both aura and style.

After a while, Meredith walked toward us, leaning on Sterling's arm.

We exchanged smiles, acting calm and natural.

It seemed like we had all moved past the old drama.

"Graham, I'm so sorry I missed your wedding. I wasn't feeling well."

"I wanted Sterling to go for me, but he had some business at the office. We're really sorry."

As soon as she finished, Seraphina let out a disdainful scoff.

"It seems Sterling doesn't take your requests very seriously. Are you sure he really loves you?…"

The provocation was thick with tension, leaving Meredith visibly embarrassed.

In the next second, Sterling pulled her into his arms.

He planted a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Meredith is expecting. She needs plenty of rest right now, which is why I didn't want her going out unnecessarily."

With that one simple sentence, the smile vanished from Seraphina's face.

She instinctively clenched her fists.

The jealousy in her eyes was impossible to hide.

Seeing the atmosphere turn awkward, I leaned into Seraphina's ear and whispered on purpose.

"Maybe we should hurry up and have a baby too. Our kids could grow up together."

I was trying to remind her not to lose her dignity in public.

But her reaction was violent.

"Get lost! Who said I wanted to have kids with you?!…"
