Chapter 2 Shattered dreams

Lilian looked at the disappearing image of Juliet and she only prayed for this beautiful soul to get her happiness.

Xavier didn't want this marriage but Lilian already gave a promise to her dying best friend Georgia, that she would marry her son Xavier to Georgia's daughter Juliet.

To fulfil this promise she forced Xavier in the name of inheritance and destroyed the mother and son relationship for her best friend Georgia.

But still, Lilian had hope in her heart that Juliet would win Xavier's heart one day.

Juliet held her long beautiful blue gown and entered the mansion. The guards were aware of her so none of them dared to stop her.

Juliet was feeling happy that finally, she got what she wanted. Xavier knight, the dream of many girls was now her husband.

She looked around but the mansion is dead silent, she was nervous because she wasn't habitual of such silence.

"Are you Juliet Gracia?" a female voice said and Juliet turned around to look at her.

In front of her, the woman of old age is standing and she was looking graceful

"No, I am Juliet Xavier knight," Juliet said in a proud voice and it felt good to associate her name with Xavier

"I am Maria, the caretaker of this mansion and Lilian man told me about you" she introduced herself and Juliet smiled at her brightly.

"Let me take you to your room," Maria said to her and Juliet's happiness had no bound because finally, she was going to be in the arms of the man she loved.

Maria take Juliet upstairs and stooped in front of a brown door, Maria opened the door and the room was beautiful and designed with modern classic furniture but Juliet's eyes were searching for Xavier but he was nowhere to be found

"I will send your luggage to the room," Maria said and was going to turn around but Juliet stopped her

"Where is Xavier," Juliet asked and Maria didn't know what to tell this poor girl.

"Xavier is in his room," Maria said averting her eyes from Juliet who was looking at her with a questionable gaze.

"What do you mean by his room, I am his wife then why didn't you take me to his room," Juliet asked her with a confused expression on her face.

"Mrs Juliet, this is your room and Xavier like his privacy" Maria said in a low voice because she knew what was going to come in Juliet's life.

"I am his wife, please take me to his room," Juliet said with authority to Maria and was unaware of the storm that was going to knock on her door.

Maria couldn't deny the orders of the new mistress of the house but she also knew that sooner or later the truth would come out in front of Juliet.

Maria took Juliet toward the room of Xavier but inside she dreaded the consequences because Xavier strictly ordered that Juliet shouldn't come in front of him.

But Juliet was unaware of the hatred in Xavier's heart.

"Mam, that is sir's room," Maria said to Juliet who looked at the room far away in the corner.

The heartbeat of her was getting fast that finally, she was going to be together with the man she loved

But she was confused that why Maria didn't take her to Xavier's room at first and there was some different expression on Maria's face that Juliet unable to understand.

She shook her head because she didn't want to have any bad thoughts.

"Thank you and send my luggage to his room," Juliet said without looking at the fearful expression on Maria's face.

Maria knew that tonight was going to be rough for Juliet but she was not in a position to say anything to the young mistress, Maria only prayed to God to give strength to Juliet to fight the upcoming storm in her life.

Juliet advances her steps towards the direction of Xavier's room and her heart was blooming with happiness thinking that this was going to be her dream night.

She stood outside the door of Xavier's room and at first, she thought to knock on the door but decided against it because Juliet thought that she is Xavier's wife and she didn't need to knock at her husband's door.

She turned the doorknob and entered inside but the scene in front of her confused her.

She looked at her best friend Kathy who was sitting on the bed and doing something in Xavier's room.

A lot of questions arose in the mind of Juliet but not even once did she doubt the intention of her best friend.
