My husband was dying of stomach cancer. Unable to bear the thought of living without him, I decided to end my life first.

Just as I was about to jump off the coastal cliff, I ran into another woman who was there for the exact same reason.

She told me her husband's name was Jonas Mercer.

What a coincidence. My husband was also named Jonas Mercer.

She said she wanted to die because her husband was dying of terminal stomach cancer.

Another eerie coincidence. So was mine.

That was the moment I realized we were married to the exact same man.

Furious, I abandoned my suicide plan and rushed back to demand a divorce.

Only then did I discover that Jonas had never legally registered our marriage in the first place.

It turned out that all along, I was the other woman.

"Are you here to end it all, too?"

A woman's soft voice pulled me out of my thoughts, and I opened my eyes.

Standing on the adjacent jagged rock was a gorgeous, striking woman.

She looked about my age.

"Are you?"

I asked, genuinely surprised.

Her clothes and accessories screamed old money and designer luxury.

Why would someone so wealthy want to throw her life away?

The chilly ocean breeze whipped violently against my face.

I heard her voice crack with raw grief.

"My husband is dying."

"I can't bear the thought of watching him slip away in front of me, so I decided to go first."

What an unbelievable coincidence.

I had come to this cliff for the exact same reason.

Curious and heartbroken, I started talking to her and learned her name was Paige.

"Paige, what happened to your husband?"

"He has advanced stomach cancer. Even the top specialists at St. Jude couldn't save him, and the doctors say he has less than a week left."

Her eyes were swollen and red from crying.

I froze, completely stunned. Could such an absurd coincidence really exist in this world?

My husband was in St. Jude, dying of the exact same cancer.

"What is his name?"

She dabbed at her tears with a trembling hand.

"Jonas Mercer. You might have heard of Mercer Global. He's the CEO. It's such a tragedy that someone so young got sick."

My heart violently skipped a beat, plummeting straight into my stomach.

It took me several agonizing seconds to process the horrifying truth.

Paige and I were sharing the same damn husband.

Jonas had been married to me for six whole years!

He had lied to my face for six years straight.

If I hadn't run into Paige today on this cliff, I would have died without ever knowing the truth.

"Hey, are you okay?"

Paige nudged my arm gently.

I snapped back to reality, realizing tears were already streaming down my cheeks.

After all, I had spent years loving Jonas with all my heart, and we even had a five-year-old son together.

"I'm… I'm fine," I stammered, my voice shaking uncontrollably.

"Paige, can you promise me one thing?"

"Don't jump just yet."

"Don't ask any questions right now. I promise I will explain everything to you soon."
