Chapter 3

I step out of the airport, I look left and right for my ride, Ted and Rosie promised, with my hand towing my trolley. A black shiny Mercedes, a new model, suddenly pulls over in front of me. I take a look and at once give a questionable stare, the tinted window winds and the chauffeur, dressed in a black suit, plops his head a bit. I stay planted staring at him, is he out of his mind? I ask myself. He steps out of the car and offers a hand, I stare at him and reciprocate. He smiles faintly. “I'm Seth, Walsh's chauffeur, sent to pick you up. Betty, are you?” “Oh yeah. Betty White-” “Yeah, Ms. Rosie's sister,” he concluded with a brag and I nodded positively. “My bad, shall we?!” he gestures at me, taking my trolley to put into the trunk, he opens the backseat door before I could attempt to do so, I smiled affirmatively and finally we take off. Not that I'm nervous but I couldn't sleep well last night, it has been different for me, unlike other nights, I’d see movies, go to the clubs with my friend or maybe drink through the night, but last night was a squall. I lean backward and I fall asleep within a bit, waking up to hear the chauffeur tell me that we have arrived. I heaved a deep sigh and make my way out of the car, he already opened it, and he takes my trolley into the residence. I am swept by the couple's taste in exteriors, nature, and vicinity, Rosie is good at these things. The primal thing that I beat in is the taste in men but luckily Ted is a big beat though. I remember back in the day when she used to date one weird guy from Detroit, I mean he's a control freak, he monitors her life all the way, and she is just the opposite of me. I'm more of an outdoor person and she's not but good thing that now she found just the right guy. The right guy that I'm kinda thinking of how to speak with, I'm disheveled at the moment but I'm hoping to collect myself before he pops into view... “Darling Betty!” I hear my sister call out with her arms widely spread and ready for a hug, and soon I'm snapped out of my thoughts. We hug tightly, it had been a while since I last saw her. “I miss you, Rosita,” “I know right?! Come on darling, food ready. Would you shower first or rat first... It is up to you sis!” she stares at me with empathy, I know that I look stressed and dazed too. “Am I missing out on something?! Where's the hippie Betty that juggles through every good and bad!” she teases and we both laugh it off. “I'm gonna eat first, I'm starving. I think I'm gonna fall off anytime soon, Rosita!” I tease right back and we laugh again. We walk to the dining and sit down while the maid dishes the food. Mouth watery meals. “You look hot anyway, who is your designer?!” she compliments my bodycon “Oh girl, thanks. I'm gonna recommend him to you, he-is-good!” I explain and we continued talking as well as pouncing on our meal. I “Am I allowed to ask where the handsome man has gone?!” I ask and she blushes “Oh, Ted?! He had to step out for a meeting, it was urgent but don't worry he'll be here soon. As soon as he arrives, I'm gonna send him over to you! We both miss you!” she explains “It's fine is, either way, I'll meet him. Even at 2 am!” I tease “You refused to visit Betty, I was starting to think that we hurt you- I hurt you. Busy here and there... It was frustrating... I had discussed with Ted that I was going to pay you a surprise visit but he thought having you for the holidays would make better sense. More fun!” “My bad, it's just that I'm very inclined with work and I just hate to bother you!” “Who says you are? The last time we met was after my wedding day, is that a good sign?” she scoffed and I rub her arm lightly, she wasn't happy about it. I didn't have a concrete reason either. “I'm here to make it up to you sis, cross my heart!” my hand is across my chest and she smiles at me, I had managed to ease off the hurt. I'm bad at keeping loved ones close, especially my sister. I mean, she's everything I have and she's been my mom and dad ever since they passed on. Years ago. “And you're not talking about Fayette? Why’s that? I was expecting a wedding card by now, you two were like a tube and tire.” she started offendedly, I sigh wearily. “His ass is dead to me. He cheated and we are done. It's old skool now; since last three months! Yesterday marked it!” I explain to her and her face drop in shock, yeah, everyone I tell this same shit to, gets knocked out, I'm jerking off slowly though. She placed her hand on my thigh and console me, I detest sympathy once it's about men. “I'm so sorry about that darling, you could have told me-” “What would you do? Nothing Rosie, it was for good, I know that.” I say to her and she retracts her hand with a faint smile. “You are a fine ass, always bubbly and so it's not hard to get another man. You're typically what every man wants, you got ‘em all! Loosen a bit!” She tries to make me feel better and it is working anyway, at least reminding me that I'm hot as fuck is what I need right now. “Thanks, Rosie, you are the best!” After we finished eating, she had to step out for shopping and I just couldn't make it out with her, I mean I'm so exhausted to the core. I just want to shower but then she promised that we were gonna hang out at the bar like good ol’ times. I hum to a song a remember from Nicki’s playlist back at home, I grab my towel and wrap my body. I make my way out of the washroom but I bump into someone I didn't expect sooner. Ted. It seemed like he had just gotten in, damn I didn't hear the door creak open. What fine man is this? He has the sharp jawline I remember, tanned skin I remember, fine manly features that I remember... Like what the fuck? I remember everything, except that his dark hair had grown a few inches long. I mean, it was now a shoulder length. I stare at him carefully, how the shirt lets me see a peek of his bare chest since the upper buttons are unbuttoned. He looks confused and apologetic for barging in I guess but I freeze without a word. He welcomes a smile and speaks. “Welcome home Betty, you... you are pretty much prettier than I remember. Sorry that I couldn't make it at lunch!” “Oh man, It's fine you know. Thanks a lot!” I smile coyly at him, I'm still trying to step out of my shy state. “Okay yeah... I'm gonna be waiting in the living room, we could talk a lot better!” he says with a smile I nod positively and the last thing I see is the door, slammed.

That's everything available right now.
