Chapter 2

As the years passed and I stepped into adolescence, the garden that had once been my kingdom started to feel smaller. The world outside our white picket fence, which had always been a vast territory where I couldn’t cross , for my mysteries and my adventures , I now  could go out there and explore the city and it’s vibrancy.

These were the years when I really started to struggle with the difficulties of identification and self-discovery which came with Adolescence, which was characterized by a search for meaning and a desire to comprehend who I really was and who I wanted to become in future . This replaced the volatility of childhood.

I learned about topics in school that would influence how I perceived the world. I started to become fascinated by history. The tales of legendary warriors, fighters ,  conquerors, and people whose deeds had changed the course of human history enthralled me. I felt like a time traveler, flipping  through the pages of my textbooks as the cast tapestry of history unfolded before my eyes.

My passion for history was complemented by a deep curiosity about science. The mysteries of the universe and the potential for innovation and progress fascinated me. I often found myself gazing up and getting lost whilst looking at the night sky, contemplating the stars and the vastness of space. It was during these moments that I realized the boundless potential for discovery and exploration that lay ahead.

In the world of literature, I continued to thrive excellently . Everyday , I explored the works of classic and renown authors, delving into the pages of novels that offered profound insights into the human conditions. It was through literature that I began to develop a good sense of empathy, and an understanding of the myriad experiences and emotions that make us who we are. And mould us into Who we want to become

As my understanding of the world expanded, so did my ambitions start to grow . I started to dream of making a mark  and leaving my footprint on the world, just like those on the books I had read . I often thought of leaving a legacy that would endure through the ages , and become timeless .  The heroes of our past and the characters of literature I read became my role models and motivation , and I often imagined myself following in their trails.

In school, I found myself eager for academic excellence , not just for the sake of good grades but as a means to unlock the doors of so much opportunities. I was fortunate to have good teachers who nurtured my curiosity and encouraged my thirst to acquire  knowledge. They challenged me to think very critically, and to question the status quo, and to seek solutions to the problems of the world.

When I was a teenager, I started experimenting with the realm of extracurricular activities. I joined my school's debate club, where I discovered the significance of persuasion. I was able to communicate my ideas, create arguments, and enhance my negotiating and compromising skills through debates.

Visiting scientific fairs was an additional choice. I plunged headfirst into the world of investigation and testing. Through the process of formulating a hypothesis, conducting experiments, and presenting data, I was able to comprehend the importance of the scientific method. When our idea won first place at a scientific fair, that's when I first experienced the excitement of discovery.

Outside of school, I sought out opportunities to make a difference in my community. I volunteered at a local shelter, where I met individuals who had fallen on hard times. Their stories widened my eyes to the struggles and challenges that some people faced, knowing this gave me a different light about life because I had grown up with everything I wanted at my fingertips , so I began to contemplate how I could contribute to a world that often seemed in need of compassion and change.

One of the defining moments of my adolescence occurred when I attended a leadership seminar. It was an eye-opening experience, as I met individuals who were making a tangible difference in their communities and the world at large. Their stories inspired me to channel my ambition into actionable goals.

The seminar introduced me to the concept of social entrepreneurship, a field where individuals used business principles to address social and environmental issues. It was a revelation for me. I realised that one could combine ambition and innovation with a desire to make a positive impact on the world.

Inspired by the stories I had encountered, I began to take on leadership roles within school clubs and organisations . I joined a youth leadership council, where we initiated projects aimed at addressing real-world issues. From organising community clean-up drives to raising funds for local charities, our actions were guided by a shared commitment to creating a better world.

I came to realise a sense of purpose that went beyond scholastic success at this time. I eventually realised that true greatness resided not just in one's own accomplishments, but also in one's capacity to make a difference in the lives of others. leaving my fingerprints everywhere you go. My aspirations to leave my mark on the world were no longer just fantasies; they were coming true.

My teenage years were characterised by my academic endeavours and personal development, but they were not without their share of difficulties and low points. My shoulders were frequently burdened down by the pressure to perform well and the uncertainty of the future. Resilience, the value of failure, and the importance of endurance were teachings I had learned as a child, and they had remained with me throughout my life, giving me hope and courage. They also acted as a compass, leading me through the storms of adolescence.

As I approached the final years of high school, I stood at the crossroads of adulthood, facing a future filled with uncertainty and promise. The profound questions of identity and purpose loomed large. What did I truly want to achieve in life? How could I make a meaningful impact on the world? These questions became a driving force, propelling me to explore the fields of business, innovation, and leadership.

My early life's experiences and lessons, along with the renewed ambition and sense of purpose I had during adolescence, had put me on the route to a future in which I might use my knowledge and abilities to influence change and motivate others.
