Chapter 2 First Glance

‘Margaret, bless your heart!’ I thanked her for breakfast.

‘Mr. Walton, I'm going shopping today. Do you want me to cook something specific for you? ‘Margaret asked me smiling.

‘Whatever you cook is perfect for me, you know that. Thank you!’ I replied and got out of the house.

Andrew was waiting for me outside and opened the door when he saw me ‘Beautiful day today, Sebastian!’.

‘Indeed it is!’ I smiled back to him.

Entered the car and checked some missed calls, voicemails and emails. I started listening to the voicemails while I opened my laptop to answer the emails I received from yesterday. It seems that I didn't have much, maybe I will manage to finish answering both before we get to the office.

The way to work is quite short, but New York traffic is crazy. Thankfully, Andrew is a master of driving and almost always manages to get out of traffic quickly. But a 25-minute drive easily turns into a 40-50 minute one, even with Andrew’s skills.

We were already halfway to the office and all of a sudden Andrew braked hard ‘I am sorry, Sir! Some men tried to steal a young lady's bag right on the pedestrian crossing. The traffic light turned red and she was stuck on the  crossing between the cars.’

While he was telling me what happened, I managed to catch a glimpse of the girl who had barely managed to reach the sidewalk.

Wheaten blonde hair braided at the back. Her face has fine and innocent features, she seems like a good girl, her face was so red probably from what happened and her eyes were watery, suddenly I imagined my dick so deep in her mouth, provoking her that look. After a short while we arrived at the office. I was glad I managed to regain my control and entered the building. Martin was waiting for me at the entrance and the moment I stepped inside he started to tell me about today’s schedule and make the work plan for the rest of the week.

I was listening to him carefully, but a part of me was still thinking about that girl.

I needed a few moments to breath so I can process what happened. Those men didn’t manage to get my backpack. All of a sudden I was so thankful  that my sister bought it. At first I laughed so hard that it had two closing systems, but now I understand why.

I stopped at a shop on the way to buy a bottle of water because I felt that my mouth was dry and I enjoyed the view, allowing the adrenaline of the shock to pass. The city was pumping energy. Each person seemed to be in a hurry and attentive to their  own thoughts. The cars were swarming like bees and were honking from every corner, trying to escape the traffic.

I like the energy that the city exudes, as if it wakes you up and motivates you to continue. I couldn't wait to finish my studies to move here and be close to my sister. I studied very hard at university, managing to finish 2 master's degrees in the last year. I had only moved for a few days and I still couldn't believe I was here. I took a deep breath, happy with everything I had achieved so far, being sure that I would achieve even more from now on, and resumed my journey.

I wasn't starting work until tomorrow, though I had to go get my laptop and the pass ID. My new boss told me that it would be better to do it one day in advance as I had quite a few papers to sign at the entrance. So I called in the morning that I will come today, so they can be ready for me.

After several interviews, I was accepted at one of the most famous companies in the U.S., Walton Industries, which specializes in many branches. The management and advertising department is headed by Ethan Barton. He is on the 1st place with the most successes in this business, every project he put his hands on turned into gold. He will be my new boss, he hired me as his assistant. I am very excited, because I know that I will have a lot to learn from such a treasure.

Twenty minutes later I was at the Welton  Industries Building. A bit shy but also excited I stepped in and started to sign the papers the security handed me. Afterwards I took the elevator to my office’s floor.

Once I reached the 15th floor, I was greeted by an absolutely gorgeous black woman. Dressed in a fitted cream dress, with cream high-heeled shoes, her hair left in natural curls to shoulder level. 'Hi, I'm Rachel, the secretary. You must be Ann Collins!' extending her hand.

I took her hand, still looking at her with admiration to which she added 'I know, I know I'm gorgeous! Especially with this new dress.' after which she did an elegant pirouette.

'You really are!' I told her and we both giggled.

Rachel presented me to every part of the floor, after which we went to the boss's office where I would also work.

'Hi girls!' a redhead with a sweet face greeted us. We also greeted her, after which we got to know each other.

She is Rita, the former assistant of my boss, whose place I took. I realized the reason why she was leaving. She was visibly pregnant and from time to time stroked her belly. Rita showed me the program on the computer and asked me to write down certain details that would help me. She was very nice and you could see that she enjoyed teaching me.

Rita and Rachel had a very close relationship. I wanted to be able to have such a relationship with my colleagues too.

While I as signing the last papers, a boy appeared, with a smile on his face, emanating a positive vibe. You could see that he was in a hurry, but something told me that he was always in a hurry.

'Hello ladies! Rachel I need to synchronize the schedule on the calendar.' he said.

'Of course! Ann, this is Martin, the personal assistant to the big boss, Mr. Walton.' Rachel introduced us.

That's why it seemed to me that he was always in a hurry. Martin probably had a lot of things to do.

Rita gave me my work laptop and the pass ID, I said goodbye to the two girls and to Martin, then entered the elevator.
