Chapter 2 MY LIFE

ASHINA'S POV

I am light skinned, the color of my eyes is like that of a hazelnut. I am slender, and have a curvy figure. I'm playful and graceful, and people find me charming, elegant, and mysterious. I move with fluidity, drawing attention with every step I take.

My gentle smile hints at a warm, welcoming personality, while my beguiling charm makes me a magnetic presence. My porcelain skin glows with a luminous radiance, and my hazel eyes sparkle with a mischievous twinkle. My figure is a blend of delicate curves and subtle strength, giving me an alluring, feminine grace that captivates the gaze of those around me.

I'm sure you would love to know what I look like as a wolf.

Don't worry, I've got you covered.

My wolf form is a blend of sleek white fur with a hint of honeyed hazel reflecting the huge hue of my human eye. I have a lithe, graceful body that exudes both power and elegance. My movements are swift and deadly, while my fine-boned snout and silver whiskers add to my regal countenance. My eyes speak of the predator within, but they also hold a captivating allure.

My name is Ashina and this is my story!

At age five,I woke up to a chill but not cold morning. The sun was lazy, and the weather was kind of mellow. It was a nice, relaxed atmosphere, not too hot or cold, and not too bright either. There was a gentle breeze that made the air feel nice and cozy. Overall, it was a pretty chill morning.

That morning was quiet as usual, but I kind of felt a bit different. I felt blessed, there was this unknown peace that enveloped me and for some strange reasons I felt so happy.

Well as usual, I decided to stand up from my bed to go say my regular good morning pleasantries to my parents. Ya, why shouldn't I? They've been the best part of me right from when I was born.

They took care of me with so much love and care, that I could literally feel it in my bones marrow.

Back then, I usually say, if I had the opportunity to come back to the world again, I would choose them as my parents.

‘Hmpff’ jokes on me….

So …. Back to my story.

Every morning before I sit up, I usually do my bed stretches. I would stretch my hands and my legs and break my knuckles.

Well the ones I could, at the time. I was only a child, so I couldn't do much.

I started with my hands, based on my routines, then stretched out my legs.

Wait!

No, I didn't stretch out my legs, because when I tried, I noticed I couldn't feel them.

Strange ……

That was really funny because I believed I must have been dreaming, there was no way I couldn't be feeling my legs. I mean they are my legs!  They belong to me! So I should feel them. Right?

As a relentless little she-wolf that I was, I decided to use my hands and drag my legs, so it could stretch out because I thought the numbness was just as a result of my sleeping posture.

When I placed my hands on it, mind you, my eyes were still closed. I wanted to feel the soothing impact of the stretch, I wanted the relief to go so deep that the relaxation I would feel after that would be unexplainable.

I'm sure you understand what I mean? …… Yes I'm sure you do!

But as I placed  both hands on my legs, I realized that I couldn't feel my legs.

Wow funny how I thought my hands were still floating in the air, I had to try again, with my eyes still closed and I felt nothing.

Maybe I still felt sleepy, that was why I was misbehaving.  You could imagine! That was what I thought.

This time I decided to trace my legs from below my waist and I still couldn't feel my legs.

Like a flash of light, I opened my eyes immediately and raised my head up from the bed, in a position that I was looking at my legs.

I realized that legs were trembling, my precious little tiny legs, were trembling like the hand of  an aged  grandma, that is clinged to a walking stick to support her balance, yet her grip on the walking stick is not firm, because her hands are obviously very weak, to grip her own stick.

I sat up on my bed, and the only weight I felt was from my waist, upward. My waist was literally what supported my body.

I struggled to move my legs but I noticed I couldn't, I realized that I had lost control of my legs, they felt like they were not part of my body.

It was as if I was staring at some object and somehow, magically I tried to make that object move alongside my body, when it's obviously not part of me.

I tried countless times but all to no avail. It felt like a dream to me. There was absolutely no way I was going to accept that

“Maybe I was just having some sleep paralysis” that was exactly what I thought back then, like I knew what it was.

It happened that I had heard my mom make mention of sleep paralysis days back, and without asking her what it meant, I just assumed it was the inability to walk in your dreams.

Tsk ….. you could imagine.

All my efforts to get my legs to move again proved abortive.  It was at this point I knew I had to call for help.

“Mum!!! Dad!!!” My scream was so loud that I could feel my lungs vibrate.

But they didn't give me any response, maybe they thought I wanted to say my morning ‘hellos’ to them as always.  But I don't scream, so why should they assume that?

I called out again the second time. And this time my body went cold, I was already shivering and sweating at the same time.

Remember, the weather wasn't hot at all.
