Chapter 2 It's another working day.

Amy washed herself up and put on a long robe before moving towards her daughter's bed.

She glanced at her daughter who was sleeping soundly on the flat bed.

They both look rough yesterday night due to the work they did and her boss didn't pay her her salary not to talk of giving her a stipend to hold on to....

She is working with a recycle company and they gather people's waste for decomposition or to make a new product.

She always work alongside with her daughter.

She don't want to subject her into such fate but what could she do? They need to survive and fend for themselves.

She doesn't beg people for money but she had to force herself in approaching the young man that bought some flowers.

God will bless that man for giving her such amount of money to hold on to. At least, they will get good foods to eat.

She removed few notes from the money and put on a scarf before moving out of the street.

People were busy going to their place of work.  while she walk closer to the groceries shop. She bought few groceries before running back home.

She lit up her cooker and make bacon with tea.

She then proceeded to wake her daughter up.

"Hannah, it's morning already. You need to get up! She said pulling the young girl at her shoulder while she turn to another side before pulling her back.

"Don't be stubborn this morning, you need to get up".

"I'm still sleepy mum". The five years old girl said.

"This is past eight and you need to clean up before eating".

"Eating?

"Yes dear, I've prepared something delicious this morning".

"Wow! Thank you mum". She said hugging her mum after laying her eyes on the food prepared by her mum.

She quickly dashed to the bathroom and dressed herself up before sitting before the table.

The both munched on the food and sipped enough tea while Hannah pack the plates to the kitchen.

"Today is Saturday and we are not going to work today and tomorrow. Where should we go?". Amy asked her daughter after returning from the kitchen.

"Anywhere is good for us mum".

"I don't want us to work this weekend. We need to relax ourselves against Monday morning and to get you ready for school".

"Mum, I don't feel like going to that school".

"Why would you say that?".

"I want to work with you from morning till night! Hannah declared.

"No dear, you can only help me after school hours. Why don't you like your school?". Amy asked with a concerned look.

"I was always bullied in the class by my class mates".

"Why would anyone wants to bully my daughter?".

"They said that I don't have a father and I am doing a dirty work with you".

"Do not mind them, you have a father and our work is not dirty because it is earning us something". Amy tried to explain.

"Then where is my father?". She asked with a sad face while Amy looked away.

She always avoid the question whenever it is thrown to her. She don't like talking about her ex boyfriend.

"Listen! Hannah, we are going out after this meal. We will talk about this later".

"Why did you like  to avoid my question?".

"It's because you are getting stubborn every single day! Amy shouted at her.

"You don't listen to me and I wonder if I will be able to control you in the future!.

"You don't need to shout at that young girl". Someone's voice interrupted and Alice come in.

"It's you Alice, welcome". Amy greet her friend.

"I've been hearing your conversation since, I am sorry for eavesdropping. I would have come in since BUT I couldn't help it when she asked about her father. Till when will you keep avoiding the question".

"I don't need you to come here and start explaining how to live my life for me. I am her mother and I can choose to talk about her stupid father or not!.

"Amy listen, she is a child,....And it is natural for her to ask about him anytime her classmate bullies her in school. I hope you understand this dear". Alice said holding her shoulder while she sniffed and look at her daughter.

"I'm sorry for shouting at you. I love you daughter".

"I love you too mum". She said and hugged her.

"Oh oh this is emotional, I feel like giving birth to my own kids too". Alice said while Hannah excused them.

"Be fast about it, I can't wait to carry your baby. How is Chloe?" Amy asked.

"He is doing okay and we are both fine! Why did you ask about him?".

"You guys are taking too long before proposing to each other".

"We wanted to take that long time before going to the next step. Marriage is a life time journey".

"You are right, take your time. Do not end up like me, even though we didn't do a wedding".

"I didn't said that to remind you of your failed relationship. The good thing is, you are doing well for yourself".

"Thanks for your words of encouragement, How is mum and dad?". Amy asked.

"They are both doing okay, I visited them yesterday evening and they asked about you. Mum even suggest that you should bring Hannah to her whenever she is on holiday".

"Your mum cares about my daughter alot while my own mother abandon her. Alice, sometimes I feel like this world is against me".

"Have always told you....not to think about the negative aspect of life but the positive aspect. If your mother abandon you, then my own mother is ready to accept you with an open arms. Think about those of us that loves you". Alice adviced while Amy clean the tears that strolled down her chin.

"I didn't even offer you anything since you are here". She said Changing the topic.

"What should I offer you?".

"Water is okay".

"Why water".

"I have eaten some snacks before coming here. Don't let me stress you".

"Alright if you insisted". She say before handling her a glass cup of  water.

They had a few chats before Alice left for her house.

Amy used that opportunity to take her daughter out .
