After that outburst, she and Hudson were taken away by the police.

Since no actual damage had been done and she was technically part of the company, they were released after twenty-four hours.

At the board meeting, the directors were all frowning at me. No one spoke for a long time, probably because I looked like I was in a foul mood.

Finally, a senior director, a man who had co-founded the company with my father, spoke up.

“Silas, I helped your father build this empire. I’ve watched you grow up. If no one else will say it, I will.”

“Nova is threatening to revoke all her technical licenses. You know our high-end skincare line depends entirely on her patents.”

“Without them, the company will collapse!”

“Silas, you two are siblings. You’ve always been close. Don't let it come to this. Go and apologize to her.”

I closed my eyes briefly and spoke in a flat tone.

“Nova is no longer my sister.”

I wasn't saying it out of anger. I was stating a fact.

From the moment she met Hudson Vance, she was gone.

It was as if a stranger’s memories had overwritten the person I knew.

The sweet, bubbly sister who used to rely on me had vanished instantly.

I once took her to her favorite spicy restaurant, and she just stared at me like I was a monster.

“Silas, are you trying to kill me with this food?” she asked innocently.

But my sister had always loved spicy food. It was her favorite.

She stopped talking to me. She stopped asking for an allowance.

And eventually, she refused to hand over her latest research.

In the end, she believed Hudson’s lies without question and sent me to my death.
