Chapter 3

After Sienna left, I went to my office and submitted my resignation.

Everything went smoothly until the final step, which required Sienna's signature.

I had no choice but to call her. Surprisingly, she picked up right away.

But the moment I mentioned my resignation, her tone changed.

"What are you trying to pull now? Did the freezer not teach you a lesson?"

"You want to resign? Fine. But only if you agree to donate your bone marrow to Caspian. Otherwise, forget it."

The line went dead. I gripped the phone, another wave of confirmation washing over me. I had made the right choice.

I left the resignation papers on her desk and walked out.

On the way home, my car was sideswiped.

When I got out, I saw Sienna and Caspian in the other car.

Sienna got out, a sneer on her face.

"Is this really necessary, Declan? Following me is one thing, but causing an accident to get my attention?"

"You know Caspian's health is fragile. You did this on purpose to scare him. You're a real piece of work."

I just looked at her, numb. "You're imagining things. I couldn't care less what you two do."

I turned to get back in my car, but Caspian grabbed my arm, his voice choked with fake tears.

"Don't blame Sienna. She's just worried about me. I'll pay for the damages. Please don't let me come between you two."

I couldn't stand his manipulative drama queen act. I threw his hand off.

"Stop with the waterworks. It's disgusting to see a grown man act like that."

He was clearly not expecting that. His face went pale, then red.

"Declan, what is wrong with you?"

Before I could react, Sienna's hand flew out and slapped me across the face.

The sharp diamond on her nail cut my cheek.

"Declan, I didn't mean to..." She reached for the cut, but I flinched away.

"We're breaking up," I said, looking her straight in the eye.
