Chapter 3 My name is Xavier

Alice slowly opened her eyes, she looked up to stare at the person in front of her. A tall man with brown eyes in front of her, his face was perfectly handsome with a sharp nose and sharp eyes. The man looked confused by Alice's expression which looked surprised and scared. That made the man extend his hand.

"My name is Xavier. Are you okay? I just called you, why are you so scared?" the man asked raising his eyebrows.

Alice woke up from her reverie, she was a little relieved that the one who called her was not Jack, but... Alice didn't recognize him. Why did the man know her name? Xavier? Even Alice never recognized that name.

"No, I'm not okay. Please help me," Alice replied while accepting Xavier's hand with a body that was still shaking with fear.

Xavier was a Lycan king who was deliberately looking for Alice for a secret mission, he did not expect to meet Alice in such a terrible condition, Alice's body had many wounds and her legs were limping. The look on Alice's face was very frightened as if she was in danger. That made Xavier sympathize with the girl.

"Is anyone after you?" asked Xavier to which Alice nodded her head in reply, then she said again, "Well, I'll take you away with me." Xavier said that with a lopsided smile that was hard to interpret.

Alice could only nod her head, as even her mouth was speechless. Alice believed in Xavier because the man's gaze looked sincere, it made Alice immediately agree to go with Xavier. All she had in mind right now was to escape from Jack and Eliza, even Alice was fed up with the two of them.

"But can I ask you something?" asked Xavier before taking Alice away.

"What?" Alice raised one eyebrow, waiting for Xavier to ask a question.

"Are you really the daughter of William, a former Alpha Pack Shadow?" Xavier asked with a serious look on his face.

Alice nodded, in her mind she had many questions for Xavier, how did Xavier know her name, even know her father's name. But Alice put those questions away, because all she wanted now was to get away from Jack. If Alice was caught again, she could suffer even more than before.

"Yes, I'm Alicia, William's daughter."

Xavier seemed to smile and said to himself, "I finally found her, just need to wait 3 more months."

"Alright, come with me. I'll take you away from here." Xavier took Alice's hand and helped her to walk.

But just as the two of them took a step, someone attacked suddenly. Luckily Xavier was very sensitive and immediately dodged, suddenly the brown eyes turned yellow like a wolf ready to prey on anyone. It did not escape Alice's sight, she looked at Xavier with a confused look. Is Xavier also a werewolf? Alice thought.

"Damn it! Who are you, how dare you attack me!" snapped Xavier staring at the man in front of him with sharp eyes.

Unlike Xavier who was afraid, Alice hid her body behind Xavier. "Get out of here Jack!" she said without looking at Jack, she was afraid to look at Jack because she remembered the torture she had received. Alice's strength has not yet returned, she will not be able to fight Jack without her strength.

"Do you know him?" Xavier asked Alice.

"Honey, don't be a child. Come with me." Jack approached Alice, about to pull her hand. But Xavier stopped him.

"Keep your hands off this woman, or you will die." Xavier said that with emphasis, his gaze sharp and ready to stab Jack at any moment.

Jack swallowed hard. Who wouldn't know the man standing next to Alice? The Lycan king, who was so ruthless and capable of killing anyone who disturbed him, Jack backed away slowly; for now, it was better for him to leave than to deal with Xavier. 'Damn it, why did Alice get to meet Xavier?' he chuckled inwardly, his gaze still fixed on Alice sharply, as if he were furious with her.

"I just want to ask my girlfriend to go with me; why are you interfering?" Jack lied to avoid fighting with Xavier.

Xavier turned to look at Alice, as if asking for an answer. While Alice looked up with a disapproving look, he laughed lightly and said, "Lover? Are you still worthy of being called a former lover or not after usurping my position as Alpha and rejecting me afterwards? You even cheated on Eliza all this time, torturing me endlessly. Is that what you mean by lover?"

"Shut your mouth!" Jack's temper provoked him to attack Alice again. But Xavier managed to make the attack back at Jack.

Jack bounced a few meters; he couldn't doubt Xavier's strength. It was too dangerous to fight a Lycan king alone. Jack clenched his fists, then he got up while holding his chest, which hurt from the attack. "I'll be sure to get you back, Alice. I'll make you suffer even more!" Jack snapped, his eyes burning with emotion. After that, Jack chose to leave from there.

After Jack left, Alice could finally breathe a sigh of relief. But Alice was still afraid that Jack would return before his strength returned. Alice thought she just had to stay away from Jack until her strength returned. Otherwise, Jack would definitely lock her up and torture her again.

"Are you okay?" asked Xavier. His gaze had changed, and he looked at Alice with a shady look.

Alice nodded her head as she said, "Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for helping me. But why is Jack so scared of you? Who are you really?"

Xavier paused for a moment. "I'm Xavier, the Lycan king," he answered simply.

That answer was enough to make Jack afraid, just like Alice thought. Jack was actually a coward; if Alice's power wasn't gone, she would have fought with Jack back then. A few moments later, Alice opened her voice again.

"But why do you know my name? Why do you also know my father's name? Are you targeting me?" Alice asked endlessly, and finally she asked something that was stuck in her mind.

Xavier was silent; his face turned flat. 'My goal is only one: to get you,' he thought, looking at Alice with a lopsided smile. What's the goal?
