Chapter 2 2
Avery woke up, she saw herself in a wedding dress and her hair and makeup already done.
"You look beautiful ma'am!" The makeup artist said and she sighed.
"So I couldn't even escape!" She muttered.
"The dress is totally you!" The makeup artist said again and Avery glared at her and she felt shivers down her spine and she immediately excused herself.
Avery stood up and looked at her self in the full-body sized mirror.
She indeed looked beautiful but she wasn't even happy about it.
Her room door opened and two men walked in.
"It's time!"
She didn't say a word, she just followed them, as soon as she reached the chapel the wedding march was played.
Then she started walking down the aisle.
Avery's white wedding dress is a stark contrast to her inner turmoil.
The gown is still breathtakingly beautiful, but it now seems suffocating, a symbol of the union she's being coerced into.
The lace that once seemed delicate and romantic now feels tight and constricting, like a trap she can't escape.
The fitted bodice accentuates her slender figure, but her body language betrays her distress.
Her shoulders slump, and her head is bowed, as if the weight of the dress and the wedding is crushing her.
The full skirt that once seemed so romantic now feels like a prison, a constant reminder of the commitment she's being forced to make.
The train that once trailed behind her like a cloud now seems like a burden, a constant reminder of the expectations and obligations that come with marriage.
Avery's smile is gone, replaced by a look of resignation and sadness. The dress that was meant to be her happiest attire now feels like a costume, a disguise to hide her true feelings.
Mr Andrew smiled from his seat, as he watched his daughter walked down the aisle with that smile on her face although it was fake he didn't care.
It was only the couple, him, the priest and his assistant that were present.
As Avery walked the dress seemed to shimmer in the light.
She finally reached the alter she was holding her bouquet of flowers tight.
The man she wanted to marry was masked, he did want her to see his face? She asked herself.
She sighed and wanted the wedding to get over with.
After the priests usual speech, he looked at the couple and asked the question.
"Do you take this woman to be your lovely wedded wife?"
"I do!" He replied.
"Do you take this man to be your lovely wedded husband?"
Avery was silent, this was a church and she didn't want to lie to herself that she wanted to marry this humane in front of her.
"I God please save me from this situation" she secretly prayed.
She was still silent.
"Speak woman!!" Andrew demanded.
His assistant came over and calmed him down.
After more minutes of silence Mr Andrew spoke.
"Go on with the ceremony, the choice it agree is not in her hands anyway"
"You may now kiss the bride!"
"Skip it!" Cedric said and the priest looked at him confused.
"Sir we can......" He was about to say something when Cedric looked at him with those Green eyes.
"Fine"
"Let's go!" He said and Avery sighed before following him.
He took huge strides towards the door and left while Avery took one last glance at her father.
The look in her eyes showed pain and the fact that she was going to come back and take revenge.
She eyed her father and walked out of the room.
"That little ungrateful wench!" Andrew said and scoffed.
Avery walked to the car and the driver opened the door for her.
Throughout the drive, she was just sighing repeatedly, but she didn't say a word, neither did Cedric, he was just on his phone doing God knows what.
"We are here ma'am!" The driver said and she scoffed. Cedric glanced at her and came down from the car.
She alighted from the car and looked at the building in admiration.
It was such a a large mansion. The mansion of the wealthy and reclusive Mr. Cedric, loomed before Avery like a behemoth of glass and stone.
Its modern façade seemed to shimmer in the fading light of day, as if trying to conceal secrets within its walls.
The estate's grounds stretched out like a private kingdom, complete with manicured gardens, a private lake, and walking trails that whispered secrets to the wind.
As she stepped inside, Avery's eyes adjusted to the opulent interior. Polished marble floors gleamed like ice, and the curved staircase seemed to float upward, supported by an invisible string of magic.
The great room's LED light installation cast a kaleidoscope of colors across the ceiling, a mesmerizing display of wealth and innovation.
Avery's footsteps echoed through the cavernous space as she made her way deeper into the mansion. She couldn't help but feel like a small, vulnerable creature in the belly of a luxurious beast.
"Your room is the brown door by your right upstairs" he said for the first time since they met and she gulped.
She didn't move, he stared at her with those Green emerald eyes.
She felt hypnotized.
"Won't you move!" He ordered this time clearly annoyed and she quickly recovered and apologized.
"I'm sorry, I'll go now but I didn't bring any clothes while coming"
"There's clothes up there just get Freshen up, dinner will be brought to you up there"
"Why don't you remove your mask, we are alone you know"
She said and he walked to where she stood and his face was just inches away from hers.
His intoxicating cologne suffocated her nostrils.
"I have my reasons and what I do is not your business neither is what you do my business" he said and walked away obviously annoyed with the conversation.
She sighed and walked to her room.
At least he gave her some freedom.
As she opened the door, she could help but gasp as the massive size of the room.
The room was a beautiful and intricate design of gold and Marbles, it was so big it could pass as an entire house.
It has a balcony which had a back view of the house and also a TV and a large king sized bed.
She looked at the bed and lay down on it, closing her eyes.
She wasn't in the mood to have dinner.
She slowly drifted to sleep and when she heard a knock on the door.
"Ma'am, dinner is ready!" The maid said and She opened her eyes slightly.
She was a light sleeper so any slight noise she would wake up.
"Who is it?"
"Your maid ma'am, please open the door let me dish your dinner!"
"Fine I'll be right there!" She said and stood up from the bed.
She walked to the door and opened it, the maid walked in, she went to the bed and dropped the food on the dresser and brought out a small table and put it on the bed and dishes out the food.
"Thank you!" Avery said.
"You are still in your wedding dress?, please have a shower first then bathe....don't worry the food will still be warm when you get back, it's too hot anyway!"
Avery nodded and walked to the bathroom and tore the dress off her body and and wrapped herself in a towel and went to the shower and turned it on.
She instantly jumped.
The water was first cold then it warmed up slowly, it was getting close to winter and using cold water was treason.
She enjoyed her warm bath and came outside in her bathrobe, she walked to her bed and started eating the food.
"Please inform me ma'am if there are any changes you would love to make in your room, I'll inform the boss and we will get it changed right away"
"Okay that you!" She said with a smile and the woman left.
After dinner she felt a little tired so she closed her eyes and slept.
When her room door opened and her eyes opened again.
"Why cant you guys let me sleep?" She asked on one in particular.
"Aren't we a couple we are supposed to sleep together!" The male voice boomed around the room and her eyes opened wide, it was Cedric.
He was just in a robe.........
