Chapter 2

2

Since I became Harrison’s mistress, he hasn't grown tired of me. He stayed with me for an entire month.

Harrison is forty-five now, and Madison is his only child.

To get an heir, he had spent years looking for fertile women.

Those women were usually plain and unattractive. Harrison only treated them as a chore to be completed.

None of them could ever conceive.

Over time, he gave up hope.

He didn't want his hard-earned empire to fall into a stranger's hands. He mentioned more than once that he would have to make Madison the heir.

I wanted to sneer every time I heard that.

A person like Madison doesn't deserve such a life.

To speed up my revenge, I used my magic to conceive.

But I didn't plan on keeping this one.

It was time to give Madison a lesson she would never forget.

Before I showed up, Harrison would go home to see Eleanor occasionally for Madison’s sake.

But now, he has completely lost interest in his aging wife. He hasn't gone back in weeks.

I manipulated a few people to spread rumors at the main mansion. I made them believe Harrison wanted to kick Eleanor out and marry me.

The rumors spread like wildfire through the New York elite.

Eleanor finally snapped. She burst into my villa and slapped me twice across the face.

“You little bitch! How dare you manipulate Harrison? I am the woman who built this family. You think you can replace me? Dream on!”

I endured the pain, but my eyes burned with hatred.

I laughed in a way that sounded like a haunting curse. “I am targeting you specifically because you are Madison’s mother. Not just you, I will kick Madison out too. I want to see you both rot in the gutter.”

She didn't know that I had already placed a deadly curse on her body. There is no cure.

It would make her skin break out in painful sores until she was unrecognizable.

She couldn't blame me.

She should blame herself for raising a monster like Madison.

Eleanor was terrified by my sudden madness. She stepped back instinctively.

Seeing Harrison’s car pull up, I immediately changed my expression. I covered my face and looked like a wounded bird.

“Harrison... I don’t know what I did wrong. Mrs. Sterling came in and hit me. Is it because I love you too much? I really can’t live without you.”

Harrison’s face turned dark.

“Eleanor! Have I been too soft on you lately? You dare touch the woman I love? If it weren't for Madison, you’d be on the street already!”

Eleanor was speechless. We were the only two in the room.

No one heard my threats, but the red marks on my face were clear as day.

She had to swallow her pride. she kept apologizing, saying she was just stressed out.

Harrison looked at her with disgust. “It seems you have too much free time. From now on, Luna will handle the family affairs. You’re getting old. It’s time for you to retire.”

Eleanor panicked. She had forgotten that Harrison never truly loved her.

Everything she had was only because she gave birth to Madison.

She begged, “Harrison, I was wrong. But look at Luna, she’s so fragile. She shouldn't have to work so hard. Let me handle those messy chores.”

Harrison’s large hand moved down my back. He dismissed her impatiently. “Then get out. Stop bothering us.”

Eleanor hurried away.

That night, just as Harrison and I were going to sleep, the phone rang.

It was Madison. Her voice was frantic. “Dad! Something happened to Mom! You have to come home now!”

I went with him. When we reached the Sterling mansion, Eleanor was rolling on the bed, screaming. Her body was covered in oozing sores. It was disgusting.

Madison stood by the bed, crying her eyes out. When she saw me, she lunged and grabbed my throat.

“You poisoned my mother! She went to see you today and now this happens? It’s not a coincidence!”

“You bitch! I will make sure you die a painful death!”
