Chapter 1
The college girl my husband sponsored is pregnant.
She teamed up with him to poison me.
They took my house, my car, and my entire company.
They even beat my beloved Golden Retriever, Lucky, to death.
He whimpered and crawled to my clothes, taking his last breath right there.
In the end, they cooked him into a stew.
Those two monsters laughed and ate every single bite.

I opened my eyes.
I felt something warm on my hand―it was Lucky, licking my fingers by the bedside.
A wave of shock and joy hit me. I had been reborn.
Lucky was alive, I was alive, and everything I owned was still mine.
Just then, a loud knock echoed through the door.
I remembered this day―it was the day Yolanda Weaver, the student I'd been sponsoring, came to find me.
In my past life, I let her move in without a second thought.
I felt sorry for her poor background and wanted to help her since she had no one after graduation.
I never expected her to seduce my husband the moment she stepped inside.
I opened the door and saw Yolanda standing there.
She flashed a fawning, oily smile. "Hannah, it's me."
"I told you I'd come to visit."
I looked at her empty hands and didn't hold back.
"I've sponsored your life for seven years, Yolanda. You come to see me and don't even bring a thank-you card?"
Her smile faltered, turning into a mask of awkwardness.
She clearly didn't expect me to be so blunt.
In my previous life, I noticed her rudeness but stayed silent, thinking she was just a broke graduate.
"Hannah, I just graduated and haven't found a job yet. I'll make it up to you once I'm settled."
She looked at me with puppy-dog eyes. "Actually, can you help me find a position?"
I narrowed my eyes. She was good at making empty promises, but I wasn't buying it this time.
I kept a cold smile on my face.
"Yolanda, I paid for your tuition, but do you seriously think I'm your mother?"
"You can't even find a job without crawling to me?"
She tried to push past me and enter the house.
"Hannah, in my heart, you're like my own sister. You've helped me so many times, what's one more?"
Her eyes turned stubborn, a hint of resentment flickering in her expression.
I let out a sharp, angry laugh.
"Get lost before I call the cops for trespassing."
I had supported her for seven years.
Did she think she had a lifetime right to suck my blood?
My compassion was the very thing that got me killed before.
"Who's at the door, babe?"
I slammed the door shut before she could reply.
My husband, Silas, walked out of the bedroom, still half-asleep.
He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind.
He nuzzled into my hair. "Why are you so upset this early?"
I looked at the man I had loved for seven years.
A chill ran down my spine.
If I hadn't experienced his betrayal, I would never have believed he'd conspire with an outsider to murder me.
I was an orphan with no family.
My only close connections were my business partners.
I had treated Silas as my only kin, giving him half the shares of my company even though his salary was barely a fraction of mine.
My friends had warned me before the wedding.
"Hannah, he's nice, but keep your eyes open. Keep your assets separate."
I had ignored them back then.
He had been the perfect husband after the wedding.
But now, I had to face the truth.
He likely had the urge to get rid of me long ago.
Yolanda was just the spark he needed.
"Seriously, who was that?" Silas asked, reaching for the doorknob.
I knew she was still out there; she wouldn't leave until she got what she wanted.
Despite my protests, Silas opened the door.
He acted surprised when he saw Yolanda.
"Wait, isn't this the student you've been helping?"
"I remember you saying you were going to help her find a job."
My face darkened.
The moment Yolanda saw Silas, her eyes lit up, and she stepped inside without an invitation.
She grabbed his arm, completely ignoring personal boundaries.
"You must be Hannah's husband. Hi, Silas. I think I made Hannah mad. She doesn't want me here."
I folded my arms, watching Silas lead her into the living room.
"Your sister Hannah is just all bark and no bite," Silas said smoothly.
"She was just telling me the other day how worried she was about your future."
Yolanda looked at him with an expression that bordered on obsession.
I understood why; I fell for Silas because of his looks too.
He was the most handsome of my suitors.
He was also incredibly gentle, always bringing me medicine when I was sick or saving me a seat in the library.
His long-term persistence had won my heart completely.
I thought he was my safe harbor.
I didn't realize my harbor was currently hosting a fleet of other women.
I let out a cold snort.
I slammed my water glass onto the table with a loud crack.
"Silas, did I say she could come in?"
"If you love her company so much, why don't you leave with her?"
Silas looked stunned. I never spoke to him like this in front of guests.
I used to give him all the respect in the world to make him look like the head of the household.
