Chapter 3

3.

Before my mind fully cleared, roaring cheers filled my ears.

"Say yes! Say yes!"

I looked around and realized I was back on the day Keith proposed.

Keith was holding a bouquet of red roses, offering a diamond ring worth a fortune.

"Tori, marry me. We'll have our own adorable children and build a happy home together."

How ironic.

I crouched down, meeting him at eye level.

"If I marry you, does that mean Chelsea Cross can finally return to the city?"

A flicker of panic flashed across Keith's face, but he quickly masked it.

In its place came an aggrieved expression.

"Tori, why can't you ever trust me?"

I stood up and stepped back.

"I refuse your proposal."

"Keith, let's break up."

His eyes widened in disbelief.

"Tori, you're joking, right?"

"Did someone say something crazy to you?"

The crowd that had been cheering went dead silent, looking at each other in shock.

I stared at him with cold detachment.

Realizing I wasn't joking, Keith tossed the roses aside.

He grabbed my wrist with force, trying to shove the ring onto my finger.

The ring was too small because it had originally been custom-made for Chelsea.

In my past life, that very ring was used as proof that I had stolen Chelsea's place.

A sharp sting shot through my finger, making me gasp.

Keith spoke harshly: "Our families are equals, we get along great, and I buy you whatever you want."

"What more could you possibly be dissatisfied with?"

I pulled off the ring and threw it onto the floor.

"I'm dissatisfied with you as a person. Don't forget, your precious Chelsea is still waiting for you in the next town."

In my previous life, I was merely Mrs. Prescott, walking on eggshells for family business and Keith's fleeting affection.

Now, I was just Tori Parker, heiress of the Parker Corporation.
