Chapter 2 In My Head

The image of the brown wolf stayed in Agatha’s mind for days. Three days had passed, and she still couldn’t forget his auburn eyes. The day of the announcement of the Betas had arrived. The commander general for the Kingdom of Shaldan, the greatest honor to be received from those who are said to be Descendants of the Beast. The Sorceress from the Valley of Karoonah displayed the most beautiful fireworks when Mike was announced as Beta. As well as the young woman named Burnice and a man named Zafari. Agatha tried to Celebrate along with the others, but a confusing feeling riddled her mind when Tyrone gave her a kiss on the cheeks. ‘You’re mine!’ The voice spoke again in her mind. In the end she pushed Tyrone away with all of her strength, making her husband fall on the ground. The people around them stopped cheering. They were usually a happy couple. But since she saw the wolf, she detested Tyrone’s touch. As if his fingers burned against her skin. “I — I’m sorry.” Was all Agatha could say. “Why the fuck did you push me, Agatha.” Tyrone hissed. “It was just a kiss.” The Huntress rolled her eyes. If Tyrone was confused, then so be it. All she knows is she didn’t want any of it. But she still respected her husband. He is the pride of their village after all. They are ‘The Power Couple.’ “Nothing.” Was her reply with a smile. “I just don’t feel like kissing. That’s all.” From afar, The Alpha named Calleb walked towards Mike and gave him a sword. A black blade. It was made from the same material as the Luna uses as a weapon. ‘What an honor!’ A woman in her twenties shrieked. ‘What a good man!’ ‘I know.’ Another one chimed in. ‘Burnice was the Hunchback before right? And Zafari was mute, now look at him!’  The teenagers giggled and chattered next to the couple. ‘You can have Zafari. I want Mike!’   ‘I wonder who his girlfriend is… Lucky!’ After hearing so many women desiring the Beta, Agatha had to remind herself continuously that she’s married to Tyrone. But when she imagined the wolf laying and bedding her — the Huntress wasn’t so sure anymore. 'I can quench your desires in ways he couldn't.' The cool voice insinuates sinfully in her ears again. ============== “We are trying to conceive, Mother.” She heard Tyrone whisper as their family left the ceremony. “We were talking about it last week. I think Agatha and I are ready to have kids.” “Oh what a happy day!” Dhesali squealed. “I want a girl this time. I hope you two have a girl! Boys are a handful! And I’ve had enough of taking care of you and your brothers.” The middle aged woman teased. Tyrone laughed, closing his eyes as he did. Agatha could only listen as her husband’s mother teased her about getting pregnant soon. “I just want my son to be happy.” Agatha simply smiled and said, “And I’m doing my best to make sure that he is.” ============== The next day came, Tyrone stood on his knees to worship his beautiful wife in bed. Agatha’s legs sprawled up in the air as her husband’s tongue licked and ran against her clit. He paid attention to that special spot that makes Agatha’s eyes roll back, until the hair on her skin stands up and she fists the sheets. “Tyrone — wait!” Agatha placed her hand against Tyrone’s head, pushing him away. Luccid and dark thoughts were circling her head. An image of a brown wolf appeared on her mind. Angry and snapping it's jaws at her, calling her, "mine." "Tyrone..." She called again. But the hunter won’t budge and continued the ministrations instead. The woman bit her lips in irritation and pushed him a bit more — this time using more force. “I said —” And Tyrone fell back until his back was touching the floor “ —wait.” The Hunter wanted to scream and lash on his wife. They’ve talked about this, dreamed of this. They’d talked about having a child of their own someday, and this was it. They were finally ready. But then Agatha was acting strange. Tyrone held back his tears, though he was strong he had always been emotionally unstable. Agatha was his rock. But now, the rock that served as the foundation of their relationship was seemingly crumbling away. ‘But why?’ Tyrone asked himself. “Did I do something wrong?” Tyrone stood up and whispered in Agatha’s ear. “Did you not like what I was doing?” Tyrone smiled and licked her ears, nibbling it right after. “Tell me.” Agatha smiled then shook her head. “Nothing. You’re good at fucking. You’re amazing.” “Then what’s wrong?” Tyrone asked, and he was obviously pissed. “Tell me what’s wrong! I’ll fix it, I’ll make it better.” “I told you it’s nothing.” Agatha lied, for when she said it, she averted her eyes from Tyrone’s own. She can’t lie to those eyes. Not when he’s not doing anything wrong. “You’re perfect. Really, you are.” Tyrone opened his mouth to say something else. He and Agatha had been married for so long that he knows when she’s lying. And he knows it’s not good to pry whenever she is. Because that means she’s lying for the sake of their marriage. For the sake of their happiness. “And you are, too.” Agatha glanced down at Tyrone, letting out a soft and sympathetic smile. “I’m not.” There was an odd silence between the husband and wife. Tyrone stared at his beautiful wife, while Agatha stared off at a far distance. Something was definitely on her mind. “Maybe we will try tomorrow?” Tyrone asked. And the question sounded painful in Agatha’s ears. An act of duty that she must fulfill. “Okay.” Tyrone pulled Agatha close to him, until she was down on the cold floor as well. He pulled her in for a warm embrace, his strong chest cradling her in. The Hunter kissed the top of her head, whispering words of love and adoration. He was sweet, warm and loving. Sweet since the day they met. “I’ll be going to the feast.” Tyrone told his wife. “I’ll dress up first. You can follow me, if you want.” Agatha merely hummed, watching her husband dress himself up then went out of their room. She listened as his footsteps banged against the wooden floor until it reached a null. The door opened and closed, signaling that the Hunter was gone. “This can’t go on.” Agatha said to herself carefully. “Maybe I should consult someone.” She kept talking to herself. Her mind was wandering in circles. Agatha’s throat closed up and she blinked back tears. “Is my marriage failing?” Her voice cracked as she asked no one, talking to the woman in the mirror. She had to clear her throat before speaking again. “Am I… Am I cursed by the wolf that I passed by?” “I raised my weapon against him.” Her eyes widened, and her breathing was getting short and erratic. “I — I upsetted the gods?!” She cried. “Oh no… Oh no, no,no,no,no!” Agatha cried out loud until she heard a voice. ‘You are not upsetting any god.’ The cold and deep voice spoke. ‘But you upset me. How could you let yourself be defiled by him when you are mine — mine!’ Agatha gasped and began to look around like a crazy woman. “Who are you?!” She screamed, standing up from the floor wearing nothing. “Why are you doing this to me?!” The Huntress ran out of the room when the voice on her head disappeared. She wants it to stop, and let her be at peace. “Why are you torturing me?!” ‘Why would I torture something that’s mine — woman, torturing you is not what I want.” The Huntress breathed in, putting on a brave face. “Then what do you want?!” The wolf named Mael chuckled and said, ‘You.' Agatha's eyes widened, her hands going up to her mouth to cover it. "What. Wha---what are you saying?" She stuttered, her eyes still examining the room. Wishing she'll see the being that's playing with her mind, body and soul. "I am not yours... I am not owned by anybody! Not even by my husband!" The wolf laughed again, the sound of jaw snapping sounded so loud in Agatha's head, causing the young woman to grit her teeth and close her eyes. 'Human beings are funny...' "And you're not!" Agatha heard the wolf growl, and the sound made her shudder. She did not feel fear, but something dark. Something that she did not expect to feel for the beast. It was a feeling similar to hunger. A feeling similar to intense thirst. When the beast growled and licked its snout in her mind Agatha shook her head. 'Come to the forest if you want clarity.' The Beast named Mael whispered in her fuzzy mind, and his voice almost sounded sultry. Alluring. Pulling her in. 'I'll meet you at the Eklitel tree.'
