Chapter 1
During the Labor Day weekend, a viral thread about honeymoon trips started trending on my feed.
The top comment had the most likes:
【Brothers, how are you planning to spend your honeymoon?】
【With my side piece, obviously.】
【Holy crap, you're a legend! Can you teach us your ways?】
I frowned, looking at those disgusting comments.
Then, a reply appeared below.
【There are so many girls trying to travel for free these days. Just act broke enough to trick your wife, and a romantic getaway for two becomes a party for three.】
【Tomorrow is my honeymoon. I'll give you guys a live play-by-play in the comments.】
I felt a wave of nausea and closed the app immediately.
But the next day, Caleb and I ran into a stranded girl on the road.
She had no car, no money, and no luggage.
She leaned against our window, looking pitiful.
"Sir, could you give me a ride? My feet are covered in blisters. I can't walk another step."

I looked at the woman outside.
She had wavy, waist-length hair and a full face of perfect makeup.
She was even wearing a perfume so strong it made me gag.
She didn't look like a struggling traveler at all.
Caleb gave me a hesitant look.
"I'm sorry, but this is my honeymoon with my wife. We just got married, and it's not really convenient to take a stranger."
The woman looked even more fragile.
Tears were almost spilling from her eyes.
"I won't bother you, I promise. I'll just sit quietly in the back. I won't get in your way."
"I've been waiting here for three hours. Yours is the only car that's passed by. If you don't help me, I don't know what I'll do. I don't want to spend the night out here alone."
I looked at the road ahead.
It was indeed a desolate stretch of the mountains.
Caleb looked at me, his voice softening.
"Nadia, look, the sun is setting. A young girl alone in the middle of nowhere…"
He didn't finish his sentence, but I knew what he meant.
"Fine, get in."
A look of joy flashed across her face.
But as soon as she opened the back door, she froze.
A second later, she ran to Caleb's side of the car.
"Sir, I get terrible motion sickness. Can I please sit in the front?"
A surge of anger rose in my chest.
I expected Caleb to say no.
Instead, he just looked at me.
"Honey, can you sit in the back? We're already helping her. We can't just let her get sick back there, right?"
Had he forgotten?
I had just taken motion sickness pills before getting in the car.
I took a deep breath and moved to the back seat with a dark face.
The woman looked at Caleb again.
"It's so cold, sir. Can I wear your jacket? I didn't bring one."
I spoke up. "I have one. You can wear mine."
I handed her the spare jacket I had.
She didn't even look at me.
"Please, sir? I promise I won't get it dirty."
Caleb didn't even think twice before taking his jacket off.
"What are you talking about? I'd never think you were dirty. Here, wear it. I don't want you catching a cold."
"You're such a good man. I can't believe someone like you got married so early."
The woman looked at me, her eyes showing zero remorse.
"I hope you're not mad, ma'am. I'm just joking around. I'm just saying he's a great guy."
Her pick-me behavior made me bite my lip.
Before I could say anything, Caleb spoke.
"Of course she's not mad. Getting angry over something like this would be so petty. Right, honey?"
Something felt wrong.
Right then, my phone buzzed with a notification from that same thread.
【Brothers, the side piece is in the car.】
【That stupid woman hasn't noticed a thing.】
