Chapter 3

3 The next morning, Chad made breakfast for me.

Before, I was so happy.

Now he was just being good so I can make his girlfriend happy again.

He saw that I did not eat anything.

"Amy, what is it?"

"Nothing. I just miss my mom, that's all."

Chad said, softly:

"I know you care about your mom, but I do too. I love the way she would hold my hand when she got to see us together."

"It's hard for her to move, but I'll take you to see her after the wedding. I do miss her."

How many times has she gone to see her? I asked myself.

Shelly would just say she could not sleep, and he would be with her.

"Amy, don't be sad. My sister is here to see you to say congrats. I made a place for you two to see each other."

Shelly was hugging Chad's sister.

"You are so pretty. Hollywood, here I come. Once I become a film director, I am going to get you!"

Chad's sister gave her the keys to the house.

It was only given to the most important person in Chad's life.

Shelly saw me.

"I can't take this. I can not do this to Amy. She is the love of your life. Amy should have this."

Chad's sister looked me up and down.

"She is dirty. She is from that club. She's just here to steal your money."

"Chad is an idiot. He should have been with you."

"I think you two are perfect. You should be the girl that gets to have it all."

Shelly looked straight at me.

Chad's sister does not like me.

She hates me.

She wanted to take my place with him.

Chad could not even say anything.

Shelly was with them.

Shelly was trying to act nicely.

"Amy, stop it! I am the one you want to be with now, right?"

She got a bowl of choices for us to take.

Then the game happened.

I took the worst one: Crawling on glass.

"Oh no! The maker of the game must have been on something. I did not make the game good at all. What I am doing is not good."

Shelly acted hard.

I gave it back.

"I am sorry, I can't do it."

Shelly acted like she was crying.

"I am the reason why this did not work. I will take the bad part."

She picked up the bottle of wine to drink.

Chad took it from her, acting worried.

"You can not do this to yourself. You are making me sad."

Chad looked at me.

"Amy, do not ruin this. Shelly's doing something for you, you need to give her what she wants."

"If you do not, then your mom will not have money, so I will need to find someone else."

Why is he doing this to me? He always does this.

I laughed a bit.

"Ok, I'll do it."

There was glass everywhere.

I did not want to yell.

It hurt. So many times I had felt this pain before.

2 days, then it will be done, I said to myself.

I looked pale. Chad saw that there was blood.

"Amy, are you ok? I did not mean to do that. I am just…"

Shelly covered her head and fell to him.

"Chad, I feel so bad."

Chad left me and ran to her.

"You must take care of yourself. You should not be doing this. Come, let's get you out of here."

He never looked back.
