Chapter 1
When I flew to Paris to shoot wedding photos for an anonymous VIP client, I discovered the bride was Chloe, my girlfriend of eight years.
She wore a pure white gown, kissing another man right beneath the Eiffel Tower.
She whispered to him: "I belong to you for all eternity."
On our scheduled wedding day, I didn't show up. Instead, I broadcasted the entire Paris photoshoot across the giant screens for all the guests to see.
Since she loved him so desperately, I decided to give them my wedding.

"Dylan, my soul belongs to you for all eternity."
Chloe Bennett wore a strapless wedding dress, wrapping her arms tightly around Dylan Parker's neck. Her eyes were filled with endless tenderness.
In our eight years together, I had never seen her look at anyone so softly.
"Chloe, I am yours too, forever and ever. We will stay together across every lifetime, never to be parted."
With those words, the two of them leaned in and kissed passionately.
Surrounding tourists cheered for them, while the towering Eiffel Tower stood behind them as a grand witness to their romance.
It made my eight years with Chloe feel like a complete joke.
"Hey, photographer, did you capture that kiss just now?"
Chloe called out to me as she finally pulled away from Dylan.
Two months ago, she and Dylan had specifically booked me through my studio for this destination shoot.
Photography wasn't my full-time job, but a profitable side hustle.
I was well-known in the industry, but whenever I worked, I always wore a face mask and dark sunglasses to guard my privacy.
Nobody in this circle knew what I actually looked like.
When the studio manager took the order, he told me the client insisted on booking anonymously.
Because of that, I had no idea who they were until I arrived in Paris today.
Chloe Bennett, my girlfriend of eight years.
Dylan Parker, her first love, the one she constantly claimed to despise with a passion.
Yet here they were, taking wedding photos in the heart of Paris.
I had always dreamed of bringing Chloe here for our own shoot.
She had once promised me: "Mason, I will definitely come here to take wedding photos with you. Only with you."
Vows are only beautiful in the exact moment they are spoken.
After that, they are nothing more than fragile soap bubbles that pop at the slightest breeze.
My chest heaved violently, the ache in my heart suffocating me.
"I... I got distracted. Taking it now."
I deliberately deepened my voice.
Chloe frowned with visible annoyance: "Don't space out on us. People said you were the top photographer in the city, but you seem pretty mediocre."
Dylan leaned down and kissed her cheek: "Alright, babe, don't give the photographer a hard time. Maybe the poor guy just got dumped and is in a bad mood."
My pain was a thousand times worse than a simple breakup.
I was experiencing the ultimate betrayal.
The woman I loved for eight years was cheating right in front of my face.
I wanted to rip off my disguise and expose them right then and there. But with so many people around, I refused to create a public scene just yet.
