Chapter 3

Sabrina's POV

"It's your first day, are you excited?" Beth asked as we ate breakfast.

Today is Monday and my first day to teach at SU.

"Excited mixed with nervousness." I answered him.

"It's normal to be nervous, especially on the first day of work. You probably won't have a hard time because you won't be teaching children." he commented.

I don't think so.

They're old enough but sometimes, they act like a child. College students but still young minded.

And what happened the first time I stepped inside SU was not lost on me. Something bad almost happened to me. And one of the students there kissed me.

"I hope so. You know, even at the right age, the minds are still young if you look at it."

"Well, I think you can handle them. Just do what you think is right. I believe in you." after he said that he winked at me.

I laughed a little because of what he did.

After eating, I left. Beth was left in the apartment because she had to go to work later that night. That means I will be left alone tonight.

I just rode a tricycle and sent a jeep to the terminal to SU. The apartment that Beth and I are staying in is not far from the university. It's just a jeep ride away, so I won't have any more trouble.

After 20 minutes I arrived here at the university. Since today is my first day, I went straight to ma'am Gomez's office, for her to introduce me to my students.

"Ready for your first day?" he asked as we walked down the hallway to the classroom.

"Yes ma'am, just a little nervous." I said. It's true that I'm nervous.

"Don't worry some of the students here are well mannered and well behaved. They're not gonna do anything when you are a teacher here. But, some are you know... it's inevitable that some are stubborn and stubborn." she said and smiled at me.

She's right and I've already encountered some of them.

Jace POV

"Have you seen Caine?" Shaun asked. We are now in the parking area inside the university. I just arrived and saw him leaning on the side of his motorcycle.

"As you can see, I just got here!" I replied. I'm not in the mood right now.

I felt my father's anger again. He came home earlier this morning and I don't know where he came from. He looks exhausted, tired and annoyed when I saw him.

I'm used to him not being home all the time. Sometimes a few days before he comes home. I don't know what he's up to or where he's going. I tried to ask him once but he just got angry with me. That's why I didn't repeat it.

Because since mom died, his attitude became like that and that's when I started to distance myself from him.

"I guess you're in a bad mood today? Hmm.. let me guess.. your dad has come home with you, right?" Shaun

"Tsk!" was my only answer to him. It laughed.

"Am I right?" He knows that when I'm not in the mood, dad is the reason.

How many times has he witnessed how my father and I always fight every time we see each other. Because he always sleeps at home.

"Just avoid it every time you run into each other." he said patting me on the shoulder.

"What else can I do?" I can't do anything but stay away. But there is a chance that cannot be avoided.

"Wait... look." I looked at the direction that Shaun pointed.

A woman walking from the gate of the university. She looks familiar to me.

"Isn't she the girl Ciane kissed the other day?" he says. I looked at the woman carefully. I couldn't see his full face because it was tilted towards us. But she really looks familiar to me.

"How can you say that it's her?" I asked without taking my eyes off the walking woman.

"Of course, I remember her. She's the first and only girl that slapped Ciane's face so hard. I will never forget her face." he says. His astonishment was evident in his voice and appearance.

Who wouldn't be slapped with such force? What if a man you don't know suddenly kisses you?

"So, she's a new student here? But, it's already half of the semester?" He added.

He's right. I wonder if they will still be accepting new enrollees in the middle of the semester?

A special student, maybe?

"You think Caine is coming in today? He's not even replying to my texts to him." he said while looking at the cellphone in his hand.

"I don't know. I haven't talked to him since yesterday." I said indifferently. I fixed the bag on my shoulder and started walking.

We are three friends. Me, Shaun and Caine. Me and Shaun were friends when we were in high school. We met Caine when Shaun and I got into a fight with a group of gangs on the corner. He helped us. Maybe we've been friends for the same year. But that guy is so mysterious. We don't know much about him except that he is the son of the owner of this university we attend. Because he is not a talkative person. But, I don't mind.

"Do you think he'll come in now?" Shaun.

"He'll come in if he wants to." my answer. While continuing to walk to our classroom. That's how it really is. Just come in when he wants.

The teachers here don't care if he goes in or not. He does the things he wants to do. But he does not brag that he is the son of the owner of this university.

Maybe that's why he became our friend because unlike others, he doesn't brag about what he has.

Shaun and I went to our classroom. As soon as we entered, our classmates immediately greeted us with noise.

"Hi.. Jace, good morning." greeted Thea who immediately approached me.

"Here..." She handed me a box. "I personally bake that for you... cookies." she added while smiling at me.

I accepted it and smiled back at him.

"Yown oh.. there is free food again." Shaun said and immediately took the box with only cookies in my hand.

"Hey! That's not for you." Thea while grabbing the box of cookies back from Shaun.

I just let them both go and went to my seat and sat down.

"Have you heard about the new teacher?" I looked at the two boys who were my classmates sitting in front of me.

"Yeah.. They say she's beautiful, sexy and young."

"I hope she's single." They both laughed.

I didn't listen to their conversation anymore. I took the earpiece from inside my bag and put it in both ears. I leaned back in the chair and listened to music. I even turned up the volume so I couldn't hear the noise of my classmates.

A few minutes later they were sitting down. Shaun also sat in the seat next to me. While a seat was vacant next to him. This is Caine's chair.

I removed the earpiece I was wearing and looked at the person who entered. It was Ms. Gomez and he had a woman with him.

"D*mn! She's that girl?" Shaun said.

I looked closely at the woman with Ms. Gómez. Shaun is right, she is the girl Caine kissed.

"Good morning... You probably know that Mrs. Ledesma is about to give birth? So she is on leave now, now I am with your new teacher. Ms. Sabrina Aragon, she will replace Mrs. Ledesma while she is on leave. She will be a substitute teacher for a while and be good to her." Mrs. Gómez

"I'm going to leave them to you." Mrs. Gómez. It came out and left our new teacher.

"Sh*t! I thought she's a student? It's really messed up!" Shaun said softly.

"Good morning, again everyone." she greeted us with a smile.

"Because I'm new here, can you please introduce yourself to me? Who would like to go first? Anyone?" no one answered. Suddenly everyone was quiet.

"Okay.. maybe I should go first. My name is Sabrina Aragon--- yes?" a boy from our class suddenly raised his hand.

"How old are you ma'am?" He asked.

"I'm 24 years old." He answered. The room suddenly roared because of his answer.

"Do you have a boyfriend, ma'am?" this is another question.

"Ahh--" he seemed hesitant to answer

"She's young... she's only four years older than us." Shaun

"The rumors are true, she is beautiful. Sexy and young." I turned my gaze to the two in front who were talking.

"Looks like I've been hit by him. From now on I'll be coming in every day."

"I don't have and----"

"Yown ohhh... can I flirt ma'am?" Gab said. The whole room cheered because of what he said.

The previously quiet classroom began to make noise again.

"Quite please, now that you already know me. Its my turn to know all of you. Let's start with you." he said while pointing to Gab.

Gab walked to the front with a smile. He really stood by Ms. Aragon.

"Hi, ma'am.. my name is Gabriel Lopez, but you can call me babe for short." He said with a wink.

"Smooth..." my classmates shouted.

"Crazy." Shaun said regretfully.

"You may take your seat now Mr. Lopez." Mrs. Aragon

"Sit down tool, you bastard.. ahahaha." Tim

"Okay, who's next?" she said.

Everyone started introducing themselves until only Shaun and I were left.

"I hope she didn't remember us." Shaun said. He stood up in his seat.

"I'm Shaun Lee." He introduced himself. Ms. stared for a moment. Aragon to him.

"D*mn! I think she remembers me." Shaun said softly as he returned to his seat.

I followed by standing up. "Jace Sandoval." I said and immediately sat down.

"Okay. Thank you everyone, now let's proceed to----" he stopped speaking when someone suddenly entered.

It was Caine.

He walked straight to his seat and sat down. He didn't even pay attention to Ms Aragon.

"Dude, why only now?" Shaun asked him softly.

"The guy who just entered can you please take off your hood?" it ordered Caine. He was wearing a black jacket with a hood.

Caine slowly took off his hood.

I looked at Ms Aragon who was in front and looked surprised to see Caine's face.

Caine looked at her with his cold expression. He didn't seem to care.

He didn't even ask Caine's name and started teaching.
