Chapter 1
Finding out that my wife slept over at her first love's place after their high school reunion completely shattered my heart.
He posted a picture of her sleeping peacefully on his social media:
"Still sleeps as wildly as she used to…"
The comments below were flooded with congratulations, celebrating their rekindled romance.
I even left a smiling comment of my own: "Wishing you two a baby soon. Don't forget to invite me to the wedding, I'll be sure to bring a fat cash gift."

Staring at the comment I had just sent, I let out a long, heavy exhale and lit a cigarette.
The wedding photo hanging on the wall now felt like a sharp blade piercing my eyes.
My wife, Corinne, hadn't come home all night.
I had tossed and turned in bed until dawn, haunted by memories of our past.
The next evening, I came home from work to find her sitting on the couch with a grim look on her face.
I hung my briefcase on the rack by the door and walked right past her without a word.
"Declan!"
She slammed her hand against the coffee table and jumped up, glaring at me with fury.
"What the hell was that comment you left last night?"
I looked at her and let out a dry laugh. "What did it mean? Exactly what it said. You spent the night in another man's bed, and you're asking me what I meant?"
She frowned, momentarily choked up before snapping back. "Can you stop putting your dirty thoughts onto my friendship with Justin? Nothing happened between us last night!"
With that, she sank back into the sofa, wiping away fake tears from the corners of her eyes.
It was always like this whenever we argued.
Whenever she ran out of excuses, she turned on the waterworks.
In the past, I fell for it every single time, rushing over like a fool to comfort her.
This time, I only gave her a cold glance, not moving an inch.
Seeing that I wasn't reacting, she stopped sniffling.
Throughout our years of marriage, I had indulged Corinne in every way possible.
Perhaps she truly believed I was a pushover, pushing my boundaries further and further.
Now that I had practically been cuckolded for the whole world to see, no self-respecting man could take it anymore.
"Declan, Justin slept on the couch last night while I took the bedroom. Do you really have zero trust in me?"
"Come on, Declan, stop throwing a tantrum. Just delete that comment so we don't embarrass everyone."
Her words made me want to laugh out loud.
Anyone with eyes could tell from Justin's camera angle that they were lying in the exact same bed.
What was she still trying to defend?
Besides, Justin could easily solve the issue by deleting the post, but she refused to ask him.
Instead, she demanded that I delete my comment.
Was she really that reluctant to part with the sweet blessings from their mutual friends?
"I'm not deleting it. And one more thing…"
I pulled a set of divorce papers from my briefcase and placed them on the table.
"Sign this."
My voice was completely flat.
After being disappointed countless times, my heart had already grown numb.
Corinne's eyes widened in sheer disbelief as she stared at the papers.
"Declan! Have you lost your mind?"
Yeah, maybe I had.
I had endured so much bitterness and pressure over our years of marriage, yet I never received a single ounce of genuine love in return.
Who wouldn't lose their mind in my shoes?
Sitting here peacefully in the same room and discussing a clean split was already the biggest mercy I could offer.
Over the years, I had long realized there was never any room for me in her heart.
To her, Justin was always the one and only.
This hadn't just started recently; the warning signs had been there for a very long time.
