Chapter 1
My sister and I were both destined to marry into the Blackwood wolf shifter clan.
She chose the black wolf, a powerful warrior and the heir to the pack. But he was cold and ruthless, and after the wedding, her life became a living nightmare of his rage.
I was left with the sickly white wolf. He was gentle and caring, or so I thought. He eventually used his cunning to steal the title of Alpha from his brother.
Jealous of my status as the Luna, my sister poisoned me. She couldn't stand to see me happy while she suffered.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the ceremony where we chose our husbands.
My sister scrambled to grab the white wolf's hand before I could even move.
I almost laughed out loud. She really thought the white wolf was the better man.

The matriarch of the Blackwood pack brought her twin sons, Mordecai and Hendrix, before us.
"These are my sons. Each of you will choose one to be your mate," she announced.
I looked up, my heart pounding in my chest.
Mordecai, the eldest, was a wall of pure muscle. He was the fierce warrior and the undisputed heir.
Hendrix, his younger brother, looked pale and fragile. He had suffered from a heart condition since birth and was constantly on medication.
I looked at them again and again to make sure I wasn't dreaming. This was real.
I had actually been reborn. I was back on the day our fates were decided.
Sienna immediately stepped forward and grabbed Hendrix by the hand. Her eyes were filled with a fake, sweet tenderness.
"Hendrix, I want to be your wife," she said softly.
As she spoke, she threw a triumphant look my way. Her eyes were full of spite and hidden greed.
I realized right then that she had been reborn too. Why else would she choose the sickly brother over the heir?
Our family's corporation had worked with the Blackwood pack for generations. This marriage was a business deal as much as it was a tradition.
In our past life, Sienna heard Mordecai was the heir and saw his strength. She wanted the power of being the Luna, so she didn't hesitate to pick him.
But she didn't know that Mordecai was born without the ability to feel typical emotions. He was incredibly volatile and prone to violence.
No matter how hard she tried to please him, he only rewarded her with bruises and coldness.
On the other hand, I had married Hendrix. He was gentle, attentive, and made me the center of his world.
He took me everywhere and treated me like a queen in public.
But behind the scenes, he used his brilliant, twisted mind to kill Mordecai and take the Alpha throne.
I became the Luna, holding more power than Sienna could ever dream of.
She grew so bitter that she snuck into my room and filled it with toxic gas.
I could never forget the look in her eyes as I lay dying. They were cold, venomous, and utterly insane.
"Yara, you think you're so special because you're the Alpha's wife? I'm ending you today!" she had hissed.
With my last bit of strength, I had used a concealed dagger to stab her, taking her down with me.
I never expected the universe to give us both a second chance.
Seeing her cling to Hendrix, I knew my new life was beginning. I was finally free from the role of the tragic victim.
Our joint wedding happened shortly after.
During the ceremony, Hendrix was the perfect gentleman. He held Sienna's train and adjusted her hair with a smile.
Mordecai, meanwhile, stood there with a dark expression. He didn't even look at me, clearly wanting the ceremony to be over as soon as possible.
Sienna saw me being ignored and her ego inflated even more.
She dragged Hendrix over to me to show off.
"Yara, if you can't even hold your husband's attention in our world, you won't survive very long," she whispered.
I glanced at Hendrix standing beside her.
He was looking at her with deep affection. But I noticed something specific―the silver ring on his thumb.
My body instinctively flinched, and I took a step back.
I forced myself to stay calm and managed a tight smile.
"Don't worry about me, Sienna. I know exactly what I'm doing," I replied.
I turned and walked away immediately.
Even though it was a past life, my body was still trembling from the memory of that ring.
Sienna thought she had found a sanctuary. She had no idea what was coming.
Compared to the hidden monster behind Hendrix's smile, I would take Mordecai any day.
That night, I put on a silk red robe early.
Mordecai was leaning against the headboard with his eyes closed. His thick, black wolf tail was flicking irritably beside him.
A wolf's tail is their most sensitive spot. They don't let anyone touch it unless they trust them completely.
I walked over boldly.
Just as I reached out to touch the fur, he slammed his hand down and pushed me to the floor.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" he growled. His voice was laced with pure fury.
"Mordecai, it's our wedding night," I said softly, pretending to be shy.
Inside, I was cursing him out with every swear word I knew.
