Chapter 3 Employed

After they settled down in the city, she hunted for a job but couldn't find one. No one wanted a single mom. But after many attempts she was finally able to secure a job at a restaurant. The manager was rude and always insulted her but at least she was paid good money. She has been working there for more than a year and a lot of customers like her.

She was at the restaurant doing her job, there were a lot of customers and due to the headache she had been feeling since she had woken up, she acted sluggishly.

The door opened and a classic lady came in, she was wearing expensive clothes, her appearance got customers and even the workers talking.

She flashes a smile while waving at them, she sat at a corner waiting for the waitress.

"Selena in our restaurant, we are going to be popular " the manager said with a grin, a waiter was about to go when he stopped him.

"Let Alexa go, I don't want any mistake," he said.

"If anything went wrong, forget about this job" he said with a frown, she just nodded cause her headache was severe, her head was banging really hard.

She gets to Selena and flashes the brightest smile she could offer. The moment Selena saw her, she felt so much jealousy. The fact that she was in an apron, no makeup, her hair roughy pack but she still looks good made her so mad.

"What can we offer you ma'am?" she asked with a smile.

"I need cold water," she said coldly.

"I will be back in a moment" she said and excused herself. She came back with a cup of water, she sipped a little and spit it on Alexa's body.

"Do you want to kill me?" She yells angrily.

"Pardon me?" Alexa asked in confusion, she can't understand why the lady was overreacting.

"What did you give me?" She asked loudly, getting the attention of people around.

"You asked for cold water and I gave you just that," she said gently.

"I asked for cold water, not frozen water," she said.

"The water wasn't frozen, it was just chill" she said gently.

"Are you calling me a liar, now see for yourself " she said and poured water on her face. She quickly closed her eyes because of the painful sting she felt.

"What are you doing to our mother, bad woman?" Jace yells, coming into the restaurant with his brother. The school bus actually dropped them at the restaurant because Alexa mom wasn't around.

"So you have given birth, what a shame" she said looking at her pathetically.

"No one was allowed to hurt our mummy " Jason yell at at her, so people have started making videos already.

"I hurt her, so what are you gonna do?" She asked with a smirk.

"Sweeties, please don't try anything, I am okay" Alexa said but they both ignored her and walked closer to Selena, before she could realize what was going on, Jace got her right arm and bit it, Jason got the left one.

"Ahhhhhh" she screamed trying to free herself. The manager ran out of his office and with Alexa help they were able to free her from their grip.

"These little devils, they have ruined my skin" she said and whimpered in pain, both her arms had turned pink and their teeth marks were visible.

"I am really sorry for this Miss Selena" the manager apologized.

"You think I will accept that? They have to pay for these bruises" she yells annoyingly.

"What do you want, Miss?" the manager asked, he knows if Selena gives a bad review on their restaurant, then they are surely doomed.

"I want her fire" she said meanly, she loves the sad look on her face.

"Miss, please how about an apology" the manager asked.

"So you don't want to do it" she asked with a daring look.

"I am sacking her right now," he said.

"Then we are good" she said while carrying her bag, she catwalk out of the restaurant.

"See me in my office" the manager said before going to his office.

"I will be back, please don't leave here" she said to them before going to the manager's office.

"Haven't I warned you not to bring your kids to this restaurant after they broke some plates?" he said.

"I didn't know they were coming here, mom might have gone somewhere, " she said gently.

"They always cause trouble, blame them for losing your job, so you are fired, and don't even try to beg cause I won't listen" he said meanly.

"What about my payment? " she asked. She was tired already. He gave her an envelope, she opened it and counted the money.

"This is half of my payment, " she said.

"I have to pay for the damage your kids cause," he said.

"They don't destroy anything, so why is my payment not completed?" She asked sadly.

"They injure her, I have to take her to the hospital " he said with a trickg smile. She cleans the little tears falling down her cheeks before going out, she saw them sitting at the exact same place and she was grateful for that.

"Let's go home" she said and went out with them. She went to her room immediately after they got back from home. While the kids look at each other sadly. "Do you think mummy is mad at us?" Jason asked sadly.

"I think so, she is very sad, we shouldn't have attacked the woman,"Jace said. Their grandmother hasn't returned from where she went.

"Let's leave her for now, I know she will be okay later" Jason said while hugging his brother. . . . . "What up fam?" Belle yells while coming into the house. She looks so different now, she has grown more beautiful and mature. She graduated from college last year. She is working at one of the top five companies in the world.' Mel Tech deals with inventing cool gadgets.

"Godmother" the twins scream excitedly and went to hug her tightly.

"My little cuties" she said, hugging them to her chest, he carried them both and pecked their cheeks.

"Where is your mom?" She asked.

"She is inside, she is mad at us," Jace said.

"Oh let me go and talk to her" she said before going into her room.

"What is happening? she asked, seeing her state.

"I don't know where to start from, now I lost my only job " she said sadly.

"All this really happened?I know that Selena girl is fake, " Belle said, rolling her eyes.

"Where am I gonna start from, it was so hard for me to get the job" she said.

"That's a good thing cause I was actually here, cause I might have found a good job for you " she said.

"Really " she asked happily.

"I overheard my boss talking about his friend looking for a new maid, so applied with your name, I was told to come for interviews tomorrow morning " she explain.

"I love you so much " she said hugging her.

"I don't ever want you to be sad, if you get the job, it will really changed your life cause it's pay well, way better than your former job" she said and Alexa smile. They talk for sometime before Belle went back home.

"Mom we are so sorry" the kidy said why holding both their ears.

"I wasn't angry babies, I was just sad" she said and they both run into her arm.

"We love you mom" they chorus.

"More babies" she said and peck them. . . . . . ALAN'S MANSION

She came down from the taxi and check the time, she smiled when she saw that she is five minutes earlier. She look at the mansion and gasp, it was so big and was painted in which, she walk to the gate and press the alarm, the gate open automatically and she came in. Her eyes almost pop out when she saw the amount of people there probably looking for job too. They are all girls and was wearing extra revealing clothes. It more like they are here to seduce the boss. They all look at her weirdly, that might be because of the clothes she was wearing. She wear an extremely long gown, which makes her look older than her age.

"What are you doing here with a dress like that? I can't believe you can wear this rag to a place like this" a girl said rudely. The gown she was wearing bearily cover her butt, if she made any attempt to bend down, she will be exposed, the make up she was putting on can be enough for ten people. Alexa ignores her, she isn't going take it to heart.

"I think she is deaf" another one said and the girls chuckle.

"Look at her hair and her rough dress, maybe she is here to beg for money, I actually have a dollar if she can manage that" another girl said.

"You shouldn't be mean to her, she also came here for job" a girl said and the rest scowl at her. In no time, they are called in one after the other. But they came out sad.

"I can't believe I dress up this way to see that the boss is absent " a girl scoffed walking out if the mansion.

When she was called in, she breath out before entering the mansion. She saw a woman sitting down.

"You can have your seat" the woman said with a smile.

"Thanks" she said before sitting opposite her.

"You look different from the other girls, I think you know why you are here" she said.

"I know " she said.

"So what can you do " she asked and Axela response as the interview go on. She do different type of interview.

Alan Bill was watching her through the flat screen, he has be watching everyone of them, he wants to make sure he hires the right maid, he is tired if his maid trying to seduce him every time. He has dismissed the girls immediately they come in just by looking at their dress, he knows they are here for another thing and not for the job, he almost want to tell his maid to cancel the interview until the girl enter, she was dressing moderately, he listens to all the questions she has answer, he believe she will give him his private life.

He dial the maid number, and she pick up almost immediately. "She is hired" he mutter before hanging up the phone.

"Congratulations Miss Alexa, you have got the job" the woman said and she look at her.

"Really, thank you so much " she said at the verge of tears.

"Don't tell me you want to cry?" The woman ask.

"Am just so happy about it " she said cleaning her tears.

"You are really emotional, so I have to travel back from Korea for this interview, please you have to take care of these mansion, I don't want the boss to ever complain " she said.

"I won't, I promise " she said crossing her heart.

"So we have a chef, her name is Marie, she will help you with what you need to know about the mansion, come very early tomorrow cause I am going back to Korea" she said.

"Okay ma'am " she said while jumping around. The woman look at her weirdly.

She was sincerely happy, this job can do alot of things for them , she wouldn't have to worry about her kids school payment anymore, she will be able to buy whatever they want for them,they would move to a better house, what else would she asked for.

Alan frown from where he has been watching her.

"So childish" he mutter still watching her.
