Chapter 2 AN ALPHA IN NEED

HAZEL'S POV

My gut was screaming at me to turn back and run away, I felt like there was danger lurking in the club but somehow, I was hooked. The payment was too much to be overlooked and when I thought about my mother, the idea of leaving just because of my instinct sounded too absurd even to my ears.

"Okay." I finally nodded and decided against asking any question that would only end up with no answer.

"Wait, Hazel!" She suddenly called and I frowned. I turned around to face her with questioning look on my face.

"What's it?"

She walked over to a table, grabbed a drink and returned to me "You should drink this to calm down first. We've rushed you too hard." She calmly said as she handed me the cup.

I stared at the drink for a while, feeling the coldness of it against my hand and a small smile appeared on my face... That was exactly what I needed.

I downed the drink in one go and bowed slightly "Thanks, Ana." That being said, I turned around and left.

I had just walked a few steps away from the room when I started feeling dizzy. I felt hot from within and my body seemed to be reacting strange. I had no idea what was wrong with me but I kept walking anyway.

Soon, I got to room 808 but stopped before entering the room. I was called to work in a club, not a room, right? But it was too late, I should have asked earlier and there was no going back anymore. It wasn't like anyone would hurt me, right?

I knocked on the door but there was no reply. I knocked the second time only to meet the same result and I frowned. I waited by the door for a while, removing my uniform's first button as the heat was getting to me... My body was getting hotter by the second, my throat was dry too but no one came to open the door and just when I was about to turn around, something fell from my uniform, startling me.

Lowering my eyes, I looked at the golden card lying on the ground and bent to pick it up. There was the number "808" on it, meaning it was meant for the room. Without wasting time, I placed the card on the door and opened it.

Entering the room, I was surprised to see that there was no one in the room. It was empty and... dark too. No one would stay in the dark, right?

"Hello?" I called gently. Maybe the person was in the bathroom? I had no idea though.

"Who are you?" A deep hoarse voice came from the darkness and I flinched.

I took a few steps back until my back touched the door, only then did I calm down a little and cleared my throat. "I'm... I'm a Waiter. I'm here to serve you wine..." I stuttered, hoping the man would turn on the light so I would see him... I was feeling hotter...

"Wait... Waiter? Turn on the light." He ordered, causing me to frown.

How could my first customer be this kind of person? How could he expect me to know where the light was?

I kept the wine under my arms and started touching the wall with my free hand. I searched for a while but my hand finally caught something and I switched it on, only to see a...

"Watson?" I called with shock and surprise written clearly on my face.

"Help me..." He said softly as he moved closer to me, standing in front of me before grabbing my waist. His blue eyes filled with desire as his hand found its way to my waist and he pulled me close.

I had no idea why but I couldn't even bring myself to push him away and before I knew it, I initiated a kiss and the rest became a blur ~

WATSON'S POV

A call from my mother was all the day needed to turn my indifference into anger. I was in my office, trying to tend to the piled-up files on my table when I received a call from my mother and I frowned.

"What's it, Mum? I'm sure this call isn't to check up on me, is it?" I asked with frustration written all over my face.

Well... My mother had her time, if she call me in the morning or at night, it was certainly because she wanted to check up on me but if she call in the afternoon... It was only to frustrate my life with a ridiculous request...

My work was hard enough, why did she have to pressure me all the time?

"Of course. Why do I need to check up on a brat like you?" She replied and probably scoffed (As that was her usual reaction.) "I'm calling to remind you of the date this afternoon. I've arranged a date with the Minister's daughter who just arrived in the country last week. I heard the Lady is so pretty and she is a Model just like you. Isn't Mum wonderful?"

I rolled my eyes and sighed. "You know you ain't doing me any favour, Mum. I don't want any woman in my life right now, I'm just 24 and I still have a lot of time to choose a woman. You can't just keep forcing me to go on dates, you know?" My voice was laced with annoyance as I tried to convince my mother.

She was stubborn and she liked getting her way no matter how hard I protested. But being her only son, I never stopped exploiting her love for me to make her bend her will at times and I hoped it would work again this time around.

"You're an Alpha, Watson. A whole Alpha of the DARK GRYPHON'S PACK. You are not just a man but a father to thousands of humans and wolves who are all looking up to you to give them a mother. You need a Luna in your Pack and as your mother, it's my right to help you find a woman!" She scolded, armouring her military tone to intimidate me.
