Chapter 3
3.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye.
Willow's condition was getting worse, and Jace was becoming more anxious by the hour.
Because I still hadn't appeared.
That day, Willow cried as she told Jace, "Jace, I am pregnant too."
"Is this baby going to die with me..."
After comforting her, Jace sat alone in his study for the entire night.
The next morning, he stormed into my mother's hospital room.
But someone was already there.
Willow was kneeling on the floor, tears streaming down her face. "Auntie, you watched me grow up. How can you just watch me die?"
"Please, for the sake of my pregnancy, save me..."
My mother was shaking with rage. "You liar! You aren't sick, and you aren't pregnant..."
Watching this, I remembered how it used to be.
Jace and I had been together for so long. He was used to having me around.
Our relationship didn't start out this ugly.
But Jace had caught Willow kneeling at my feet countless times, begging, "I really love Jace. Please let us be together!"
I became the wicked villain, and Willow became the victim.
Back then, Jace would slap me without hesitation and call me a disgusting, shameless bitch.
Now, Jace didn't even think. He rushed in and shoved my mother aside.
"You old hag, what are you doing?!"
"You really are that bitch's mother. You are both exactly the same!"
"I guess cutting off your medical bills wasn't enough!"
My mother hit the corner of the table hard. Her forehead split open, and blood started to pour down her face.
I screamed in pain for her, trying to help her up.
But the living and the dead are separated. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't touch her.
My mother looked at Jace with pure hatred. "You did this to me and my daughter. We will haunt you forever!"
"Is that so?" Jace let out a cold laugh. He waved his hand, and his guards brought in a man who was tied up and gagged.
It was Silas Avery!
The guards threw Silas onto the floor.
Jace stepped on Silas's head, pinning him down.
Hearing Silas's muffled groans of pain, Jace said slowly, "This is your family's loyal dog, right?"
"You made me unhappy today. Maybe I should have some fun with this dog first?"
My mother's expression changed instantly.
This was Silas. He was like a son to her!
"He is a surgeon, right?" Jace's eyes drifted toward Silas's hands.
In the next second, Jace pulled out a knife and plunged it into Silas's wrist.
Silas let out a blood-curdling scream!
"Remember, everything you are suffering today is because you helped Nancy bully Willow. If Nancy shows up, you won't have to suffer!"
Jace laughed triumphantly.
My mother crawled toward him, trembling. "No! Stop!"
Her eyes were red. She grit her teeth and sank to her knees.
My mother was a lady of high society. She had lived a comfortable life and had never been humiliated like this.
When Jace first came to our home, she had treated him with nothing but kindness.
But because of Jace, her home was destroyed, and her life was ruined.
Now, she bent her proud back and begged him. "Jace, please. Let us go. Leave Nancy alone!"
That's everything available right now.
