Chapter 2

"Ashley was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she can't stand living in a dump like this."

"Maybe she fooled you and left a long time ago. Who knows, she might be living it up in some villa."

The last line came from Brooke, who just got out of the car.

Hearing her voice, Jason turned, his face softening.

"This place is filthy. Why did you get out of the car?"

Jason was all over Brooke, gently comforting her.

"You aren't feeling well. Go back and rest. I'll handle this. I'm going to force that woman to donate her heart to you today."

Brooke smiled sweetly. "I know you care about me, but Jason, Ashley is still your wife. Don't be too rough on her."

Jason chuckled and flicked her nose.

"You're too good. Fine, I promise I won't lay a hand on her."

Brooke kissed him on the cheek.

They were all lovey-dovey, like a couple on their honeymoon.

I floated there beside them, my heart aching.

So, they really did get together.

After Jason helped Brooke back into the car, his face turned cold again. He didn't believe me, he went in himself but couldn't find me.

He pulled out his phone and called me.

It had been three years, he couldn't even remember my number.

Finally, he clicked on "Crazy Bitch" and hit dial.

I couldn't help but laugh bitterly.

Jason hated me so much that, even after three years, I was still a crazy bitch in his eyes.

All because, three years ago, Brooke was in a car accident, causing her to lose her three-month-old pregnancy.

The doctor said she would never have kids.

Brooke cried and sobbed, accusing me of buying off the driver to cause the crash.

Jason didn't listen to me and locked me away in the middle of nowhere.

For three years.

He never thought about me. Now he was calling, looking uncomfortable.

But the phone didn't even ring, it just said, "Number no longer in service."
