Chapter 3

Jason punched the wall.

"You think changing your number is going to hide you from me?"

"Just keep hiding. I want to see how long you can last!"

Just then, an old man emerged from a shack, hunched over.

"Don't bother, she's dead."

The old man coughed.

Jason frowned, looking at him suspiciously.

"Who are you?"

The old man gave a sad smile. "I'm Ashley's caretaker."

"You must be her husband. Not a good person. He never came to see her in three years. Such a good girl, met the wrong person!"

A goon stepped forward.

"Old man, get out of here! This whole area belongs to Mr. Stone! Get out before you regret it!"

The old man stood his ground.

"I'm old, I don't care if I die."

"If Ashley hadn't given me her money, I would've been dead a long time ago."

"She died tragically. Ran over with a car, turned into meat. Not even bones left!"

Jason frowned, annoyed.

"What are you talking about? Ashley's fine. She's just playing games!"

"I told you, she's dead! Why don't you believe me?"

The old man sighed, then started coughing again.

"He's crazy," Jason said, pushing past the old man.

"I don't believe you, I know she's here.

"Find her! Tear this place apart!"

Jason stepped on a small pile of dirt.

"Flatten that!" Jason said.

The old man ran over, trying to protect the pile.

"Don't touch it!"

A goon asked what it was.

The old man said, "It's Ashley's grave."

Jason sneered, seeing the roughly made headstone.

"Ashley Stone's grave."

Jason kicked it in half.

"Three years, and Ashley's this melodramatic, she would go this far.

"You think faking your death is going to get you out of donating your heart?"

Jason destroyed the headstone and had the goons flatten the pile of dirt.

The old man cried, desperate to fix it.

"Why are you doing this?"

"I told you she's dead! Leave her alone!"

"Ashley was a good person. She didn't deserve this..."

It wasn't my body in the grave.

He still carefully tried to fix it.

Jason glared, ignoring the old man.

He said, "Ashley, I know you can hear me."

"I'm giving you three days to come out and donate your heart to Brooke. Then I will let you see your daughter."

"If you keep hiding, you'll never see her again!"
