The city of Seattle was in a state of absolute chaos. A serial killer who had been on the run for six years was finally caught.

Every reporter in town, including myself, was drawn to this explosive story like a moth to a flame.

An explosive news alert hit every phone in the city.

Finn Lee, the man who had murdered twelve people and evaded the FBI for six years, was in custody!

Media crews rushed to the courthouse, desperate to interview this absolute devil.

I was right there in the thick of it.

“Finn, why did you kill so many people?” I shouted, shoving my way through the crowd of reporters.

“Can you talk about the process? Are there other victims we don’t know about?” I held my mic high, finally breaking through the front line.

“Finn! They say you were caught while attacking the novelist Lucas Nolan. Why him? He’s not married, so he doesn’t fit your profile of targeting cheaters and mistresses!”

The moment the words left my mouth, Finn―who hadn’t reacted to a single question―snapped his head up to look at me.

His eyes flickered with a strange kind of surprise, followed quickly by a wave of cold, calculated malice.

The sheer hatred in his gaze made my heart skip a beat.

“Lucas Nolan… I was going to finish him three years ago, but I hesitated. Now I regret it. Of course I had to go back and handle him!”

“Why didn’t you kill him then? Was it because he didn’t fit your criteria? Why the change of heart now?” I pressed, sensing a lead.

Finn let out a jagged, hysterical laugh.

“That’s a great question. Why don’t you go ask him yourself?”

The guards began to lead him away, his chains rattling against the floor.

“Finn! Answer me!”

I screamed his name, but he didn’t look back.

I couldn’t shake the feeling that when he told me to see Lucas, there was a secret excitement in his eyes.

It was as if he was anticipating something… something terrible.
