Finn Lee told me to find Lucas Nolan, but I wasn’t going in blind. I did my homework first.

Lucas was a suspense novelist who became a household name three years ago with his thriller, “Crimson Moonlight.”

Since then, he hadn’t produced a single decent word. He was a classic one-hit wonder.

That three-year mark was too specific to be a coincidence.

My gut told me something life-changing happened between Lucas and Finn three years ago.

I sat down and read “Crimson Moonlight” from cover to cover.

The descriptions of the murder scenes were hauntingly realistic. It felt less like fiction and more like an eyewitness account.

A theory started to form in my mind.

Lucas Nolan had never been married, so he shouldn’t have been on Finn’s hit list.

Yet Finn had hunted him down anyway.

Maybe it was because Lucas had seen something he shouldn’t have. Maybe he witnessed one of the murders.

With that thought, I visited Lucas’s studio multiple times. His assistant blocked me every single time.

But my persistence paid off.

I found out Lucas was hosting a small fan signing event.

This was it. My only chance to get close to the man who lived through the nightmare.
